The Myriad Syrah Vivio Vineyard 2021, a masterful creation by renowned winemaker Mike Smith. This exquisite Syrah emerges as a rich testament to the Bennett Valley terroir, showcasing an inky hue that hints at its depth and complexity. Drawing inspiration from its locale, it sets itself apart from its Sangiacomo counterpart, exuding a darker, almost cabernet-like character.

The nose is a symphony of black delights ” blackberries, ripe and intense, entwined with the essence of scorched earth and a beguiling dance of black pepper. A touch of violets and floral nuances grace the bouquet, offering a delicate contrast to the boldness within.

On the palate, waves of California Syrah opulence surge forth, a testament to its origin. A symphony of flavors unfolds, accompanied by the subtlest notes of violets. The texture is sumptuously lush, with a mid-palate that glides silkily, a signature of its impeccable craftsmanship. The pure fruit-driven nature of this wine is captivating, making it an unmissable experience for connoisseurs of both Syrah and Cabernet.

Jeb Dunnuck bestows upon this masterpiece a stellar score of 94 points, commending its allure and captivating profile. Destemmed and aged in 80% new oak, the 2021 Syrah Vivo Vineyard radiates decadence. Red and black fruits intermingle, supported by a full-bodied frame. Subtle hints of chocolaty oak and spice offer a velvety touch, while sweet tannins bring harmony. This opulently styled Syrah, while youthful, promises enjoyment over the next decade, making it a cherished addition to any wine aficionado’s collection.

New vineyard in Bennet Valley, supplants Halcón. Notes of barnyard funk and forest floor. Silky texture with red tart plum and creamy blueberry. New oak adds a mocha note. Fresh acidity and a chalky finish. Well-managed 14.5 abv. Enjoyed even on a hot day.

    2. Lisette Smith

Vivio Syrah: Intense blueberry and red cherry flavors with a hint of oak. Fruit-forward taste.

    3. Kyle Hardy

Syrah from Napa Valley, Nov 2022, has notes of blackberry crumble, big dark fruit, coffee and spices, with moderate acidity and dusty tannins.

    4. Gerald Delapaz

Decant for an hour. Approachable with red and blue fruit, soft tannins, and mild mocha finish. Potential to evolve. Kenefick may be better.

Coming from a cooler site in Bennett Valley, the 2021 Syrah Vivo Vineyard was all destemmed and brought up in 80% new oak. It's a more decadent, sexy beauty revealing lots of red and black fruits, full body, some chocolaty oak and spice, and sweet tannins. Enjoy this more forward, opulently styled Syrah over the coming decade.
