    The 2020 Hourglass Blueline Estate Merlot is laser focused and the purest expression of the varietal and vineyard to date. Subtle nuances of Mandarin orange peel intertwine with boysenberry, sour cherry, and black olive. The nose translates to the palate with a deep, brooding core of black fruit and crame de cassis dominating the mid-palate. Elegance and power, sleekness and density, natural acidity and blueline minerality uplift harmoniously and provide an unquestionable balance.

A small winery that started in the 1990s by a guy named Jeff Smith. Before Jeff took over, his dad, Father Ned, was already working the land back in the 1970s. This winery isn't just any winery; it's known for making some of the best wine around, especially their Cabernet Sauvignon. Hourglass Wine is tucked away in a part of Napa Valley known as St. Helena. They have a special vineyard, the Hourglass Vineyard, that's notably expansive, covering about 5 acres.
