The Amici Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2021 is an extraordinary wine, embodying power, richness, and impeccable balance. Its captivating bouquet is dense with the essence of dark cherry and ripe plum, intertwined with alluring hints of cocoa and creme de cassis. Crafted by the renowned winemaker, Anthony Biagi, this full-bodied marvel indulges the palate with luscious notes of ripe blackberry, accompanied by the delicate allure of dark chocolate and warm baking spices, all elegantly enveloped in a cloak of toasty oak.

Gleaming in a deep garnet hue, this wine promises a lavish experience. The aroma entices with the allure of blackcurrants, iodine, and hints of oyster shell, complemented by dark chocolate undertones. As you savor the wine, you’ll be greeted with polished, fine tannins that caress the palate, offering a smooth journey along the length of the wine. Indulge your senses further, and you’ll discover delicate nuances of hazelnut and blueberries that playfully dance on the tongue.

The 2021 vintage from Amici Cellars marks a harvest of triumph and rejuvenation. Celebrating their 30th harvest, the winery rose above the challenges of the previous year, producing an exceptional wine that reflects their dedication and passion. The warmer, drier winter resulted in an early bud break, followed by a dry and steady summer growing season, leading to a harvest that commenced in mid-August and peaked in September. Despite lighter crop yields due to drought conditions, the resulting fruit showcased exceptional quality, epitomized in the Napa County Cabernet Sauvignon.

This blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petite Verdot, aged for 15 months in 65% new French oak after 100% stainless steel fermentation, showcases the winery’s dedication to perfection. Silky tannins enchant the palate throughout the long finish, ensuring beautiful ageability for years to come.

Acclaimed by the experts, the wine received a remarkable 94 points from James Suckling, who praised its potential for evolution beyond 2025. Jeb Dunnuck awarded it 92 points, admiring its classic cassis and cherry fruits, while Vinous granted it another 92 points, applauding its juicy and super-expressive nature. Overall, the 2021 Amici Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a masterpiece that promises a rewarding and memorable experience for wine enthusiasts and collectors alike.

The base 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley should certainly be outstanding. It offers classic darker cassis and cherry fruits, some graphite and chocolate nuances, medium to full body, and a plush, rounded, yet concentrated profile on the palate.

Aromas of blackcurrants, iodine, oyster shell, and dark chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied with polished fine tannins that run the length of the wine with chocolate, hazelnut, and blueberries. Give it time to come together. Better after 2025.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is plump, juicy and super-expressive. A burst of dark cherry, plum, incense, tobacco and dried herbs race across the palate. Pliant and dense, with striking depth, the Napa Valley Cabernet is shaping up to be a winner.
