Amici Cellars

Amici Cellars, situated in the scenic Napa Valley amid the Palisades rock formations of Calistoga, is a renowned wine producer with a rich history. Founded by Jeff Hansen in 1991, the winery’s inception was inspired by a successful collaboration with friends to create a remarkable wine from a small batch of grapes. The name “Amici” itself embodies the spirit of friendship in Italian, reflected in their slogan “created by friends for friends.”

Now under the proprietorship of Bob Shepard and John Harris, Amici Cellars sources its grapes from various exceptional vineyards across Napa Valley, including Rutherford, Spring Mountain District, Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley, and Calistoga. Notably, they craft exquisite Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from the esteemed To Kalon vineyard in Napa.

At Amici, the emphasis lies in small batch winemaking, treating each vineyard plot separately throughout fermentation and aging. This meticulous approach grants them maximum control during the blending process, resulting in wines of exceptional quality. Utilizing French oak for barrel fermentation and maturation further adds depth and complexity to their creations.

In addition to their main label, Amici Cellars also produces a collection of wines under the name “Olema,” showcasing their dedication to crafting exceptional wines for all to enjoy. With a commitment to quality and a passion for winemaking, Amici Cellars continues to leave a lasting mark on the world of fine wines.
