Wine Description
The 2019 Oakville Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has a complex, sweet and savory nose of red currant, red plum, cassis, dried thyme, lavender, leather and graphite. The silky entry opens to a broad mid-palate, with flavors of ripe fig, rose, and carob. Fine tannins run the full length of the palate, driving a long, flavorful, pure finish. This wine is drinking beautifully now, and will age effortlessly for 20 years and beyond. 175 cases produced.

Ripe and focused, with a loamy accent running along the edges of the core of cassis and bitter plum. This has loads of sweet bay leaf, charcoal and smoldering tobacco coursing underneath the fruit, giving this range and a touch of old-school character. More like an ’18 in feel, with the terroir proudly on display. Best from 2024 through 2038. 175 cases made.”

Lastly, and incorporating 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard is more black-fruited, with some savory herbs, iron, and loamy earthy nuances as well as a full-bodied, rich, powerful style on the palate. It’s a beautiful, concentrated, age-worthy 2019 that deserves 4-6 years of bottle age.

Brenna Morgan –
Welcome back to Napa lunch with DJ. Angele staff did an amazing job working the table and presenting 2019 RBK & OVR.Both fall release wines are just killer in 19. Very approachable with slow ox in the bottle. Aromatics off the charts on both of the wines but the edge goes to RBK….today. Just like the RBK, OVR has silky tannins with incredible freshness and mouthfeel. More mid palate weight. Cellaring this wine will reward in spades. Helen’s Cabernets in 19 are just amazing. I cannot wait to try VHR.This is a 98 wine for me today.

Wine & Wagyu 4.Another brilliant 19. One of my favorite Keplinger OVR vintages to date. A very cellar worth wine not to be missed.175 Cases of total production.

A few days in Napa with fellow CT’r Cristal2000: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon/4%Cabernet Franc/1% Petit Verdot. More earth and darker fruit mark the Oakville relative to the RBK served beside it. Once again, the elegance and purity of fruit are on full display here. I slightly favored the Oakville for its extra layer of depth and accessibility at the moment compared to the more strung-up RBK. The Oakville finishes with . The are some of the most refined and classy Cabernet Sauvignons that can be found in the Valley.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch is a stunning wine off this ranch. A vivid, beautifully chiseled wine, the 2019 captures all the energy of this site. Blue/purplish fruit, gravel, crushed rocks, incense and dried flowers race across the palate, lifted by bright salivating acidity and the intense minerality that is such a signature here. What a sensational wine.
