Wine Description
Deep garnet with pale garnet hues. Lifted aromas of red plum, mulberry, blackcurrant and black pepper, with supporting notes of thyme, bay leaf, charcuterie and cedary oak. A concentrated and powerful palate of mouth-watering ripe plum, blackberry and black and red currant, balanced by savory white pepper, anise and tarragon, fresh and buoyant acidity and an exceptionally long, fine tannin finish.

Wine Advocate
The 2017 Keyneton Euphonium is 62% Shiraz, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 3% Merlot, aged in 19% new oak hogsheads (85% French, 15% American). The oak imparts a bit of smokiness and mocha overtones to the nose, but this is a largely fruit-driven effort, with ripe cherries, boysenberries and blackberries touched with hints of eucalyptus and sage. It's medium to full-bodied, smooth and streamlined on the palate, with a soft dusting of tannins and lingering berry and herb flavors on the finish.

Alvin Dominquez –
Young, great structure
Lynette Ewell –
Tasting/drinking time (Vance’s at 811): Reductive. Black pepper with jammy blackberry, chalky tannins, plummy, herbaceous, slight blackcurrant, it’s a bit closed and tight…meh for me.
Faye Fresh –

Unashamedly medium bodied, refreshing and enticing, yet in no way underpowered, simplistic or short lived. Crunchy berry fruits, fine-ground tannins and vibrant acidity unite to marvellous effect and outstanding line and length. It takes some skill, dexterity and humility in the winery to allow fruit of such elegance to really sing. A classic Barossa blend with a long future before it.”13 AUGUST 2021

Terrible. Each sip is so damn harsh. Torture medication.
David Daughters –
Young and time to develop, but great structure, long running tannins following a medium-bold body. Very nice drinking
Jerry George –
Twisted and poured at restaurant. Still a baby but totally delicious. Silky soft in the mouth, it’s impressive how soft the acid and tannins are.Sweet black cherry and blackberry fruit with a hint of raspberry cordial syrupyness.Finishes with a cooling fennel or aniseed note that keeps the palate fresh. Dangerously easy to drink quickly.Didn’t seem overly complex my only criticism, but then maybe the restaurant setting isn’t ideal for assessing complexity and evolution.

Real Review – Top Wineries of Australia (Est. Restaurant, George Street, Sydney): Reductive, funky but with a pretty perfumed top note. Fairly ugly on the palate…not very nice at all.
Coy Duckett –
Looking very red in the glass, I’d have expected still more purplish colour.Doesn’t have the same fruit sweetness I tasted last time; more sour plum and tart cherries today. Fresh aniseed character still present.
Eda Lineberry –
Drukket til langkokt elggryte med masse rotgrønnsaker, kraft av rødvin og elg bein, tilsatt litt fløte i innspurten.. Fantastisk god vin, trenger dekantering og litt luft, gjerne to timer. Slepne runde tanniner, mørke bær, smaken sitter lenge og behagelig i munnhulen. Kan absolutt anbefales til elggryte.
Candance Moreland –
Tasted after a 75 minute decant.Dark ruby in colour with lovely aromas of herbal/eucalyptus/sage & sweet black fruit. On the palate, full bodied tart black fruit, blackberry/cassis, herbal/eucalyptus/sage, savoury, well integrated oak as cedar, medium acidity, medium to high soft tannins with a long finish to herbal black pepper. This wine is balanced, has excellent flavour & is approachable/drinkable now with good cellar potential!
