Wine Description
The Gowan Creek Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019 is a product of the impeccable winemaking done by Kristen McMahan of Goldeneye Winery. Situated in Anderson Valley in the Sonoma Coast AVA of California, the vineyard is inhospitable for many grapes but yields incredible results for Pinot Noir. The cool coastal environment of the valley provides primarily moderate temperatures that are perfect conditions for the slow ripening of this specific varietal.
An initial inhale of the Gowan Creek Pinot Noir 2019 reveals lovely aromas of glace cherry, blueberry pie, and fresh rosemary. On the palate, the blueberries take center stage and give a luscious mouthcoating experience. These fruits are framed by a sleek acidity that boosts the flavor profile and helps bring out flavors of pennyroyal and moist earth. The finish, while long and resonant, is not burdened by heavy tannins but rather has a lighter, brighter side to it, which is a result of the cool climate of Anderson Valley.
The Gowan Creek Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019 is a rich expression of the Pinot Noir varietal that reflects the ideal climatic conditions of the Anderson Valley. Kristen McMahan expertly combines the vibrant acidity and the mild tannins of the area and results in a flavorful, yet balanced Wine. This is a truly impressive vintage of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir that will dramatically enhance any table.
