Cliff Lede Poetry 2019, a masterpiece from the prestigious Lede Family Wines collection, is a testament to the dedication and finesse of winemaker Christopher Tynan. This multi-layered grand vin, part of the acclaimed Cliff Lede portfolio including Cliff Lede Cabernet Sauvignon and Cliff Lede Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon, embodies precision and artistry. The captivating wine unveils a deep garnet-purple color, heralding a sensory journey of opulence.

Upon the first swirl, enchanting notes of fresh cut flowers, crushed red currants, and summer Morello cherries emerge from this Cliff Lede Wine, interlaced with hints of red and black licorice, clove, and bergamot. The palate experiences an exhilarating rush of flavors, including melted dark chocolate, akin to the richness found in Cliff Lede Cabernet, luscious shortbread, and succulent blackberries, complemented by the plum richness synonymous with Cliff Lede Claret.

Delicate nuances of sea salt, aged beef, and earthy black truffle in Cliff Lede Poetry 2019 contribute to an enduring and tantalizing finish, resonating with elegance and complexity akin to the Cliff Lede Beckstoffer To Kalon. Earning a perfect 100 points from Wine Advocate, this Poetry blend, consisting of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the remaining parts shared by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, typical of a Cliff Lede Cab, exudes energetic scents of black fruits and nuances of dark chocolate.

Jeb Dunnuck lauds its refined, full-bodied, and polished style, emphasizing its potential for graceful evolution over 20+ years, similar to the aging potential of Cliff Lede Chardonnay and Cliff Lede Fel Pinot Noir. Clifford Lede’s Cliff Lede Poetry 2019 stands as a testament to the vineyard’s commitment to crafting wines that epitomize excellence and refinement.

Had the Cliff Lede Cabernet. The earthy undertones mixed with a rush of black fruit and red fruit flavors was quite unique. Tastes like a top-tier cliff lede cabernet sauvignon.

    2. Diane Dougherty

The Cliff Lede Poetry is a feast for the senses. Notes of cedar, dark chocolate, and a touch of eucalyptus. Truly embodies the cliff lede wine prices.

    3. Rosa Pinheiro

Enjoyed a bottle of Cliff Lede Cabernet. The boysenberry and jam notes, with a hint of smoke and minerals, is absolutely splendid. A testament to winemaker Christopher Tynan.

    4. Gloria Murphy

Just sipped on a glass of Cliff Lede Poetry. The blend of raspberry and cherry with a hint of leather and tobacco is exhilarating. The essence of lede family wines for sure.

    5. Ethel Lewis

Tasted the Cliff Lede Cabernet Sauvignon. The blend of savory licorice, clove, and blackcurrant was a delightful surprise. A great example of clifford lede craftsmanship.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry is a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it sails out of the glass with energetic scents of fresh blackcurrants, black cherries and black raspberries, plus hints of candied violets, dark chocolate, clove oil and fragrant earth. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is exquisitely fine-knitted with tons of graceful nuances intertwined with the many shades of black fruits, accented by SO MANY minerals, finishing epically long and staggeringly gorgeous. WOW!

Lastly, the flagship is the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry, which checks in as 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, and 4% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that's all from a site in Stags Leap. Lots of pure crème de cassis, ripe black raspberries, flowers, spice box, and chalky minerality emerge on the nose, and it hits the palate with a refined, full-bodied, incredibly polished style that brings serious intensity, yet with no sensation of weight or heaviness. It's brilliant today, but it really deserves 3-4 years of bottle age, and as with all of the wines here, it is going to evolve gracefully for 20+ years. 1471 cases. Best after 2025.
