Chionetti Quinto e Figlio, a renowned winery with a rich history dating back to the 19th century, is nestled in the picturesque Langhe region of Piedmont, Italy. Located in the charming town of Dogliani, this family-owned estate was founded by Giuseppe Chionetti in 1912 when he acquired a suitable farm in the San Luigi area, ideal for cultivating vineyards.

Initially, the Chionetti family focused on selling dolcetto wine to local traders, but over time, they transitioned to bottling their own wines, establishing their name as a symbol of quality. Quinto, the grandson of Giuseppe, played a pivotal role in marketing the family’s wines, and under his leadership, the business expanded significantly, becoming synonymous with Dogliani wine. They even ventured into international markets, including the United States.

Today, the Chionetti family continues its winemaking tradition, with Quinto’s grandson, Nicola, at the helm. They are known for their commitment to sustainable farming practices and have expanded their vineyards into the Barolo area, producing distinct Barolo wines from three separate vineyards. Their flagship wine, the Dogliani DOCG, crafted from 100% Dolcetto grapes, is characterized by its complexity and potential for aging while preserving its freshness, aromas, and color.

The vineyards of Chionetti Quinto e Figlio are strategically located, each with unique soil compositions and geological origins, imparting distinct characteristics to their wines. Their dedication to preserving the natural essence of their terroir is evident in their winemaking process, which emphasizes minimal intervention, eschewing the use of yeasts and filters.

In recognition of the exceptional viticultural heritage of the region, UNESCO designated the Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato as a World Heritage site in 2014.
