Taittinger Rose Champagne (Prestige Rose) immediately captivates with its intense and shimmering hue, a result of the intricate blend carefully crafted by winemaker Alexandre Ponnavoy. This remarkable cuve incorporates a portion of still red wine (15%) sourced from the finest Pinot Noirs of Montagne de Reims and Les Riceys, imparting the unmistakable color and vibrant intensity that defines this champagne. To complement the blend, a high proportion of Chardonnay (30%) is artfully added, bestowing the elegance and delicacy that exemplify Taittinger’s signature style.

This Champagne presents an intense and brilliant body with a captivating bright pink color. The fine bubbles elegantly grace the palate, offering a persistent and lively mousse. On the nose, the wine is full and wonderfully expressive, radiating freshness and youthfulness. Aromas of freshly crushed wild raspberries, cherries, and blackcurrants enchant the senses.

The palate of Taittinger Prestige Rose strikes a perfect balance between a velvety texture and a full-bodied taste. The flavors evoke a sense of freshly picked, crisp red fruits. Lively, fruity, fresh, and elegant are the four words that encapsulate this extraordinary rose blend.

Taittinger Prestige Rose is a versatile champagne that can be enjoyed both as an aperitif or as a subtle companion to fruit desserts. Its deliciously fragrant character complements dishes such as fruit tarts, fruit salads, and red fruit crumbles.

This exceptional wine has garnered critical acclaim, with James Suckling awarding it 92 points. He describes it as having a darker color and a creamy texture, with notes of cooked apples, cherries, strawberry undertones, and a delicious, dry, and fruity finish. A touch of white pepper and young strawberry complete the sensory experience.

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate also awarded Taittinger Prestige Rose 91 points, praising its inviting aromas of red berries, plums, orange zest, crisp orchard fruit, and freshly baked bread. The addition of still red wine adds structure and enhances the generous fruit core. However, readers are advised to ensure proper storage due to the cuve’s clear glass.

Other accolades include 91 points from Decanter, which highlights its highly fragrant nose, multilayered and textural palate, and blend of 45% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and 25% Pinot Meunier. Wine Spectator, Wine and Spirits, and Jeb Dunnuck all awarded the wine 90 points, commending its firmness, creamy mousse, toasty edge, and an array of flavors ranging from strawberry tart and mandarin orange peel to brioche, spice, and crushed roses.

Taittinger Prestige Rose Champagne is a testament to the artistry and dedication of the Taittinger winery, offering a remarkable sensory journey through its exquisite blend and expressive character.

    1. Harriett Eicher

Spectacular champagne. Beautiful pink hue, leaning towards salmon. Very aromatic, with notes of roses, violets, ripe cherry, and pronounced acidity. Good balance and medium-bodied. Long and persistent finish. Loved it.

    2. Robert Terry

Bold and satisfying, this rosé Champagne stands out with its defined presence. Fragrant with bread and yeasty aroma, it offers notes of strawberry, raspberry, apples, and a hint of cinnamon. Medium+ body. Worth the purchase, even at 9000 yen.

    3. Belinda Taylor

Full-bodied, dark pink rosé champagne with hints of red fruits and green apples. Enjoyable with a full meal, but unsure about the value for the price. Great by the glass option to try.

    4. Jason Vasquez

Staab House’s wine for Jeanne’s birthday is delightful. Earthy nose, crisp and medium-bodied with red currant, strawberries, chalk, flint, and a hint of chili pepper.

    5. Tanya Burgener

Enjoyable pink bubbles with hints of strawberry and loads of bubbles. Although not worth the higher price compared to Australian ones, they were still easy to drink and had impressive fizz even without a stopper.

    6. Mary Richards

One of the better big-house NV non-prestige champagnes I’ve had, and probably the best rose in that category. Mostly this shows crispness and green apple with a slight tinge of red fruit. Not perceptibly sweet but not austere either. None of the soapy/perfumey thing you get with some roses. Super versatile with food. Nice stuff.

    7. Javier Fisher

Vibrant orange-pink hue with a fruity, raspberry and cherry aroma. This rosé Champagne is rich and full-bodied, with a delicious blend of red berries, toast, and a balanced acidity. The finish is medium-plus. Made with 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and 20% Pinot Meunier, including 15% of still red wine.

    8. Lilliam Mason

Zachys Opening Celebration: A balanced and creamy brut with rich flavors, though the higher sugar content may not suit everyone.

    9. Jimmie Borg

A delightful blend of red fruit, spice, and brioche. Offers incredible depth of flavor.

    10. Warren Grubb

Elegant and harmonic rose with raspberry notes, fine mousse, and mouthwatering taste. Excellent Champagne house choice, pairs well with seafood salad. Recommended! 88-90 points.

    11. Joseph Davis

Dark rose color, full-bodied with wild red berries on the nose. Powerful yet elegant, thanks to the addition of 15% still red Pinot Noir wine.

    12. Giovanni Estrada

Porta Porta’s farewell dinner for Meowseng: Medium salmon with fair length. Flavors of lemon, rose, strawberry, menthol, bread, and wet stone. Slightly acidic.

    13. Gregory Hargett

Vibrant red fruit, berries, and cherries dominate, with subtle hints of florals and citrus peel. A touch of bread on the finish. Overall, good.

Ritz dinner. Wife’s glass. Red berries, pleasing grip, gentle mousse, mineral notes. Nothing to dislike.

    18. Frances French

Orange-strawberry color with a noticeable mousse and tiny bubbles. Clean nose of red berry fruits and a touch of bread. Similar palate with a hint of citrus zest. Not the most remarkable champagne but suitable as a starter at a steakhouse with various apps.

    19. Michael Gomez

Vibrant red-pink hue. Bursting with strawberries and red currants, balanced by gentle acidity. A crowd favorite with a lingering, sweet, fruity finish. A timeless Champagne rosé for restaurant wine lists.

    20. Cindy Whisnant

Champagnes & Sparkling Wines (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Straws with undertones of oranges & yeastiness. Medium body, nice fruity sweetness balanced by subtle acidity. Long, elegant finish. Excellent choice. Competitive price at $22.95 for 375ml.

Great start to Easter dinner. Perfect size with bubbles that don’t overpower. Solid rose champagne with decent fruit. Slightly darker, but enjoyable. Grateful for these during shelter in place.

    31. Richard Denes

Nice bubbles to end a long day. Bright and darker red fruits. Easily drinkable. Finished it fast.

    32. Irene Graham

Perfect for a solo Mother’s Day celebration; pairs well with lobster. Bursting with raspberry and red fruit flavors. Dark pour, lively acidity, and effervescence. A delightful meal opener.

Recreated our Malaysia plans: Taittinger champagne, lobster omelets. Good, tasty, drinking well.

    34. Margaret Mcguiness

Perfect evening sip with a delightful fizz, red fruit notes, and a refreshing acidity. Ideal for a nightcap.

    35. Danielle Shelley

Easy to drink, but lacks uniqueness. Not worth more than $40 per bottle.

    36. Christopher Marusarz

Intense pink-orange color with red fruit, cherry, strawberry powder, brioche, smoke, and mineral notes. Creamy texture, fine bubbles, good acidity, and long finish. Overall, a fruity and slightly sweet style.

Enjoyable and refreshing with notes of red berries. Perfect for easy drinking. Improved by reduced consumption during semi-quarantine.

Delicious dark cherry and savory notes. Perfect for those who find rose champagne underwhelming.

    39. Latosha Schlichter

Vibrant fruit, strawberry, toasty. Medium plus finish. Slight herbal notes. Good rose champagne.

    40. Franklin Welch

Not a fan of adding red to champagne, it doesn’t enhance the taste. It does look nice though.

    41. Gail Colby

This wine was a standout at Thanksgiving dinner in NYC. Perfect pairing with roast turkey and pastrami sandwiches from Katz’s Deli. Beautiful color, depth, richness. A must-have for future celebrations. 92/93.

    42. Angelita Tanner

Consistent brut rose with delightful rhubarb notes and perfectly dry Taittinger dosage.

    43. Julie Southworth

Medium salmon pink with high-toned aromas of an English garden picnic; strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, red apple, yeasty, floral. Palate falls flat, lacking complexity.

    44. Michelle Carranza

Enjoyable and drinkable with notes of strawberry liqueur, Turkish delight, and shortbread. Fresh attack with hints of rose petal and grip. Would prefer a longer finish.

    45. John Smith

Vibrant pink hue, subtle aroma, hints of strawberries. Balanced palate, fruit fading, but still enjoyable. Ready to drink now. (Aged 18 months).

    46. Rodrigo Miles

Vibrant hue, abundant red fruits, balanced weight. Enjoy now for its fruity essence.

    47. Kenneth Harris

Light pink with a copper tinge, this wine showcases a fine mousse. The aroma is light and fresh, with notes of red fruits. On the palate, it has a light body and good red fruit flavors, accompanied by a touch of tannins and acidity. The finish is medium in length but slightly harsh. While visually appealing, it does not improve with time. Notably, it includes 15% of Ambonnay and Bouzy Pinot Noir red wine.

    48. Mark Castaneda

A delightful rose champagne, perfect for a relaxing day on the terrace in the city.

    49. Thomas Lepe

Great wine, enjoyed at Perry’s Steakhouse with their famous pork chop. Full-bodied with a nice finish. Pricey at $175, but worth it for a birthday celebration!

    51. Irene Rowley

Balanced, not overly fruity. Lengthy and complex. Highly recommended.

    52. Patricia Orourke

Vibrant pink color. Bubbly yet refined. Aromas of red fruits and crisp flavors of red fruit and blood orange. Lively acidity and subtle toastiness. Perfect for aperitif or midnight toast. 70% pinot noir and pinot meunier, 30% chardonnay.

    53. Cherie Nilsson

This wine is perfect. Balanced structure, abundant fruit. Great!

    54. Stanley Stanton

Vibrant pink, delightful red fruit, refreshing dryness, lingering finish. Aged for 9 months, exceptional.

    55. Rebecca Alvarez

Lovely and classic, with a touch of age. Not groundbreaking, but still enjoyable.

    56. Deloris Payne

Seemingly more meaty and powerful and in a different style than regular old Taittinger. Funny how that works at this house.

    57. Marc Pennington

Impressed by this pink champagne. Previous bottles were meh, but tonight it was terrific. Real grip on entry, making the strawberry fruit prettier.

    58. Kirk Kinzer

A powerful, vinous rosé, stored for 3-4 years. Not improved with age. Tastes like more red wine than average. Clumsy.

    59. Anthony Johnson

Disappointingly anonymous with less intensity. Expected more punch. (Etihad Business class)

    60. Walter Armstrong

Vibrant salmon color, reminiscent of strawberry juice. Intense nose of cotton candy and wild strawberries. Good acidity, structure, and mousse. Flavors of red berries, cherries, and a hint of toast. Subtle almond and vegetable notes. Decent champagne with a medium finish.

    61. Cornelius Briggs

Effervescent with strawberry and raspberry flavors, balanced acidity. Improved with food.

    62. Bettie Connelly

    63. Robert Delbridge

Exquisite bubbles, luscious fruit, perfect balance. Surprisingly light, no hangover.

    64. Aaron Goode

Delicious cherry fruit with mineral notes and a lingering bitter cherry stone finish.

    65. Estella Shaw

Dark and rich, this rosé champagne is a big boy. With notes of dark cherry and raspberry, it’s more vinous than most champagnes. Impressive hue and flavor.

    66. Michelle Boyd

Refined and elegant with deep pink-red color. Aroma of sherbet, apple, and a hint of flowers. Solid apple and lemon flavors, slightly chalky.

The latest release of Taittinger's NV Brut Prestige Rosé is showing very well, revealing inviting aromas of red berries, plums, orange zest, crisp orchard fruit and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy but incisive, this bottling is based on the Brut Réserve, yet the addition of still red wine—much of which is produced in house—imparts structuring phenolics that complement the wine's generous core of fruit to great effect. Readers should not that this cuvée's clear glass makes it vulnerable to light strike, so it's especially important to buy properly stored bottles.

The NV Champagne Prestige Brut Rosé is a bold style, with a deep pink hue and a distinctive, fruit-forward red wine profile. Its notes of ripe raspberry, beet root, fresh herbs, crushed roses are followed by a structured and energetic mousse, with some tannic grip that would make a great application for shellfish. Drink over the next 10-15 years.

Although its origins lie in the Champagne region of northern France, this blend has transcended borders and found its place in winemaking practices worldwide, particularly in New World countries like the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The Champagne region's unique climatic conditions, characterized by its cool continental climate and cold autumns due to its northerly latitude, have been instrumental in shaping the blend's composition.
