Introducing the 2020 Patrimony Cabernet Franc, a masterpiece meticulously crafted by Daou Vineyards under the skilled hands of winemaker Daniel Daou. This 100% Cabernet Franc opens with a captivating display of supple black and blue fruits, accompanied by enticing aromas of fresh sage, tobacco leaf, and underlying mineral tones of graphite and granite. The wine’s full-bodied palate is nothing short of vivacious, featuring delicate tannins and a harmonious interplay of fresh, balanced acidity. Aged for 30 months in carefully selected barrels, including the ANA Jupille 3-year barrel, PATRIMONY 5-year custom Bois Rose barrel, and Seguin Moreau ICONE Elegance, this wine offers a long-layered finish adorned with rich notes of tart cherry, plum, pomegranate, and raspberry. Critical acclaims, including a stellar 97 points from Jeb Dunnuck, highlight the wine’s amplitude of black and blue fruits, impeccable texture, and notable structure. James Suckling awards it 96 points, praising its well-balanced, layered profile with fine tannins and a velvety texture, while The Wine Advocate lauds its full-bodied yet lighter-footed nature, powdery tannins, seamless acidity, and a long, layered finish, awarding it a distinguished 95 points. The 2020 Patrimony Cabernet Franc stands as a testament to Daou Vineyards’ commitment to excellence.

"The 2020 Cabernet Franc was made with free-run juice and is maturing for 30 months in 100% new French oak. Opaque ruby in color, it opens with chargrill aromas over a core of blackcurrant fruit and slowly emerging tones of resinous herbs and leather. The palate is full-bodied and lighter on its feet than expected, with powdery tannins, seamless acidity and a long, layered finish. It's a touch rustic compared to the other 2020s in barrel."

"Ample black and blue fruits, tobacco leaf, iron, crushed stone, and graphite emerge from the 2020 Cabernet Franc, a rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured Cabernet Franc that has plenty of overall freshness and purity, notable structure, and a great finish."

"Aromas of currants, plums, violets, chocolate orange, wet stones and sweet spices. Full-bodied with fine tannins. Well-balanced and layered with a velvety texture. Rich and creamy with an attractive core of berries at the center with a spicy chocolate touch to it. Harmonious with a generous and long, long finish with great vitality."

Cabernet Franc, a black-skinned French wine grape variety, has earned its place as a key player in the world of wine. It thrives in numerous wine-producing regions globally, making its mark in the Loire Valley and standing as the third grape of Bordeaux blends. This versatile grape has even contributed genetically, being one of the parent grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside Sauvignon Blanc. Cabernet Franc wines are celebrated for their delicate and aromatic nature, especially when young. They share some similarities with Cabernet Sauvignon but are distinguished by a distinctive green, vegetal note that ranges from leafy and garrigue to green bell pepper. This unique characteristic has occasionally led wine enthusiasts to mistake Cabernet Franc for unripe Cabernet Sauvignon or even...Please check Cabernet Franc for more information
