Wine Description

Lewis Cellars Chardonnay Napa Valley 2021, crafted by the skilled hands of winemaker Jordan Jeffries, is a true standout from the exceptional 2021 vintage. This seductive Chardonnay opens with enticing aromas of green pear, white flowers, and a touch of flint. The entrance is marked by the interplay of vanilla custard and a hint of butterscotch, expanding into a creamy texture that captivates the palate. The native acidity and integrated oak provide a harmonious balance, leaving a long, languid tail that lingers on the senses.

This wine has earned its acclaim, boasting an impressive 95 points from Wine Enthusiast. The rich, honeyed pear and pineapple flavors are impeccably balanced by spicy, toasty oak, offering depth and length that is practically irresistible. Wine Advocate, awarding 92 points, praises its big and flavorful profile with scents of spicy oak, Bartlett pear, and grilled pineapple, culminating in a succulent yet crisp finish with bright citrus notes. Jeb Dunnuck’s 94 points celebrate the plush, medium-bodied style, gold apple-like fruit, and the interplay of oaky, toasty notes that create a clear, classy finish. James Suckling, with 92 points, commends the toasty oak layer, lemon pastries, and rich, creamy full-bodied palate that remains fresh with medium acidity. The Wine Independent, also awarding 92 points, notes cedar on the nose evolving into spiced apple flavors with a pleasantly oily texture and great length. This 2021 Lewis Cellars Chardonnay is an exquisite expression of Napa Valley, inviting enjoyment over the next 2-4 years.

Year after year, this Napa Valley Chardonnay comes in as one of our absolute favorites. Fried food just cries out for a creamy white, and we love this wine’s evocative aromas of yellow delicious, spice caramel, and sumptuous creme brulee.

Spicy, toasty oak stands up well to the rich, honeyed pear and pineapple flavors in this full-bodied wine, balancing it well, and giving it great depth and length. This is an excellent choice for fans of big Chardonnay, as it is packed with baking spices, coconut, poached pears and vanilla that are practically irresistible.

Like the red wines here, the 2021 Chardonnay is big and flavorful. Boasting scents of spicy oak, Barlett pear and grilled pineapple, it's medium to full-bodied, ripe and succulent but crisp at the same time, with wet stone and bright citrus notes on the finish. (JC)

In addition to brilliant reds, this estate also makes a great white. Their 2021 Chardonnay Napa Valley offers a plush, up-front, medium-bodied style as well as terrific gold apple-like fruit, spicy, oaky, toasty background notes, terrific balance, and a clear, classy finish. This rich, powerful Chardonnay is perfect for drinking over the coming 2-4 years

Nice, toasty oak delivers a spicy and creamy layer, together with lemon pastries, fine lees and stones. Rich, creamy and full-bodied palate, showing a nice, flavorful side of Napa chardonnay. Yet, it remains fresh, with medium acidity.

The Wine Independent
The 2021 Lewis Cellars Chardonnay is wearing quite a lot of cedar on the nose to begin, giving way to notes of fresh baked apple pie, canned pears, and honeycomb, plus a waft of baking bread. The full-bodied palate delivers oak-laced spiced apple flavors with a pleasantly oily texture and great length. (LPB)
