From Eola Hills winery comes the 2019 Fossil Block Reserve Pinot Noir, an exquisite and complex wine crafted by experienced winemaker Steve Anderson. Anderson took sourced from a special block of the winery’s Legacy Estate Vineyard found within the Eola Amity Hills AVA and naturally blessed with a unique soil profile of Chehulpum, Steiwer and Hazelair.

Confined to just 88 cases, the 2019 Reserve Pinot Noir is a tightly crafted blend of aromas and flavors. A deep garnet hue envelopes the nose with delightful aromas of red cherries and berries, along with elegant vanilla undertones that give way to a complex palate that yields flavors of dark cherry, floral elements and earthy nuances finished with a white pepper kick.

Anderson was smart in his use of 12-15 percent new wood for the 2019 Reserve with no more than 30 percent new wood being used in total. The result is a medium-bodied and invigorating wine with a lush and lean overall feel. With its unique terroir and formidable barrel usage, this one-off bottling from Eola Hills is undeniably delicious and a true testament to Anderson’s winemaking excellence.
