Jean-Michel Cazes, the esteemed winemaker and partner at Chateau Lynch-Bages winery in Pauillac, was a luminary in the world of wine. After studying at the Bordeaux Faculty of Oenology, he honed his skills at Chateau Cos d’Estournel before joining his family’s estate, Chateau Lynch-Bages, in the late 1970s. Under his stewardship, the winery achieved unparalleled success and acclaim. Tragically, on June 28, 2023, the wine community mourned his passing. Jean-Michel Cazes leaves behind a profound legacy, having elevated Chateau Lynch-Bages to greatness and inspired a new generation of winemakers. He will forever be remembered for his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft.
