Guillaume Large Description
Guillaume Large, the skilled winemaker behind Résonance, brings a unique blend of tradition and innovation to the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Born in 1982 in the esteemed Pouilly-Fuissé appellation of Burgundy, Guillaume’s roots in winemaking run deep, cultivated amidst the vines of his family’s estate, initially planted by his great-grandfather.
Driven by a passion for marrying the rich heritage of Burgundian winemaking with cutting-edge technology, Guillaume pursued and achieved the Oenologist’s National Diploma from the Jules Guyot Institute of Dijon. His journey led him to Maison Louis Jadot, where, in 2011, he assumed the role of Assistant Technical Director, collaborating with Frédéric Barnier. Recently, Guillaume has lent his expertise to the Résonance project in the Willamette Valley, an endeavor by Burgundy’s iconic Louis Jadot, alongside the seasoned Jacques Lardière.
Beyond the vineyards and cellars, Guillaume’s life embraces the diverse offerings of Oregon. A connoisseur of mountain biking, hiking, and history, he finds resonance with the region’s scenic beauty and cultural richness. Currently residing in Oregon with his wife and young son, Guillaume emphasizes the striking similarities between Burgundy and the Willamette Valley, noting the shared longitude, charming small towns, exceptional gastronomy, and warm-hearted locals that make Oregon a seamless transition from his winemaking roots. In the hands of Guillaume Large, Résonance continues to craft wines that bridge continents, blending the essence of Burgundy with the terroir of Oregon.
