Enrico Bertoz

Enrico Bertoz, a winemaker with a passion for crafting exceptional wines, has embarked on a remarkable journey from his roots in the Friuli wine region of Italy to the vineyards of California. Enrico’s fascination with the United States was kindled early on, thanks to an aunt residing in New York. At the age of 24, he ventured across the Atlantic, making southern California his new home. His career in winemaking began as an intern at a Santa Barbara winery, where he absorbed invaluable knowledge.

In 2005, Enrico relocated to Napa, driven by his insatiable curiosity about California’s viticultural diversity. His path eventually led him to Flora Springs, where he embraced the role of assistant winemaker in 2008. Enrico was drawn to Flora Springs by the synergy between grower and winemaker, a concept rooted in his Old World background.

Today, Enrico collaborates closely with General Manager Nat Komes to fashion wines from Flora Springs’ estate vineyards. While his Italian origins are more inclined towards other varietals, Enrico has developed a deep appreciation for Cabernet Sauvignon, considering it a captivating chameleon that reveals unique expressions in various appellations and vineyards. Enrico Bertoz’s winemaking journey is a testament to the cross-cultural fusion that enriches the world of wine.
