Wine Description
The 2020 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon features a vibrant melange of black cherry, black currants, cedar, and dried violets. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a distinct silkiness throughout, plus a touch of minerality that adds freshness and depth. There’s a sense of grace and liveliness to this wine. The finish is laser focused with refined length and whispers hints of dark chocolate and blackberry.
Blend: 79% Cabernet, 9% Petite Verdot, 8% Malbec and 4% Merlot

James Suckling
Pure and fresh nose with a hint of stones and oatmeal to the lemon curd and green apples. Nicely saline on the medium-bodied palate with some grapefruit skins and white almonds in the finish. Drink now.

Jesus Osterhoudt –
Great cab, reminiscent of Napa tasting rooms. Worth $50.
Latoya Haven –
Balanced and subtle cab.
Tommy Wesley –
Raspberry, cinnamon and anise with soft mouthfeel and nice oak, but high tannin. Enjoyable, but better with aging.
Erika Cash –
Great from the first sip.
June Tillman –
Average wine, not recommended with filet. Look for another option.
Alan Virgilio –
Potential 90+ wine with shy start, chewy minerality, and creamy dark fruits. Needs 3-5 years for integration.
Jean Sculley –
Good Napa Cab Sauv with dark cherry and strawberry nose, polished tannins, oak and spice finish. Lacks complexity.
Stanley Edwards –
Ruby color, green nose, red berry, light oak, black cherry, toast, stoniness, leathery finish. Needs more time to open up.
Charles Abramek –
Solid wine with balanced fruit and tannins. Subtle woody finish. Great value at $25.
Jessica Russ –
92 points James Suckling: Salvestrin Cabernet is fantastic- black cherry, blackberry, and spice. Full bodied, supple tannin, lengthy finish. $50- a wine not to be missed.
Damion Wolfe –
Deeply colored with black center and garnet edges. Heavy perfume of lavender, camphor, and black cherry on nose. Rich and pure, multi-dimensional palate with fresh acidity. Flavors of chocolate and blackberry carried through lengthy finish. Will improve with aging.
Chasity Grinder –
WS 93 rated in 2021 This wine is from Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from estate’s Dr. Crane Vineyard and the Crystal Springs Vineyard east of St. Helena on the slopes of Howell Mountain.
Aaron Ward –
Scored 87, but forgettable.
Ty Botta –
Youthful dark color with aromas of black cabernet fruit, lavender, bay leaf and herbs. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Paired beautifully with Flannery California Reserve dry aged New York steaks. 90-91 pts with room for improvement.
Joseph Baker –
Fruity wine with weak tannins.
Michael Stowman –

Kathleen Hall –
Perfect Italian pairing. Subtle tart and cherry notes. Lighter than Napa cab.
Jerome Deacon –
Youthful and vibrant midweek cabernet with a zinfandel mouthfeel and classic cabernet flavors.
Kevin Himmons –
Bold fruit-forward wine, requires 2-hour decant. Cheers!
Isaac Bussen –
Agreed with others. Full berry notes. Decanted for an hour, but needed more time to open up.
Mark Sherrell –
Full-bodied with herbal notes, round with a decent length.
Gary Malekan –
Balanced and structured with notes of candied apple, violets, and red licorice. Delivers flavors of blue fruits, cedar, cocoa, and tobacco, with a soft, moderately long finish. Enjoyable and consistent quality for 2014 Napa cabs.
JS –
Pure and fresh nose with a hint of stones and oatmeal to the lemon curd and green apples. Nicely saline on the medium-bodied palate with some grapefruit skins and white almonds in the finish. Drink now.
