Gramercy Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is a wonderfully structured and exacting wine from the mind of winemaker Greg Harrington. Made with precise skill and care, this Cabernet Sauvignon delivers gorgeous aromas of flowers, herbs, plum, and spice. On the palate, the wine masterfully balances its acidity and tannic structure to create a light yet complex and refined flavor.

Starting off with deep ruby hues with purple accents, the wine is bound together by French oak and flavors of vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom. Juicy fruits of plum, dark cherry, and blackberry are a welcomed finish to the bold aromas. The palate is further enriched with a pleasantly dry, Old World style of dried herbs and bitter dark chocolate. A slight herbal edge is also present leading to a huge, long finish with an inviting tannic grip.

The careful craftsmanship of Greg Harrington has made a wine that captures the essence of the climate in which it was born, allowing for perfect ripening of the grapes and a complexity of flavors that will continue to evolve as it matures. This beautiful example of winemaking expertise is sure to WOW Cabernet Sauvignon lovers, so make sure to not overlook the remarkable Gramercy Cabernet Sauvignon 2017.

    1. Latoya Avery

Solid domestic cab with a floral and cedar nose, blackberry and vanilla flavors, and a solid finish with good acidity and tannins. A top pick.

    2. Melvin Farley

      Pleasant, yet unremarkable.

    3. Christopher Spencer

Fresh and floral with red fruits dominant. Powerful and complex with potential to age 15+ years, needs 5-7 years to integrate. Interesting. 92-94.

    4. Josephine Daughtery

Improved with age. Night 3 surpassed night 1.

    5. Kevin Simmons

Sophisticated Phinny Hill with mineralogy and a strawberry flavor, great for laying down due to its structure.

    6. Jean Wright

Young, high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon with strong varietal character and appealing Horse Heaven Hills terroir. Needs time to improve. 92-93.

    7. Connie Thompson

Approachable and enjoyable, Hommage a DryCab from Washington Wines release has dragonfruit and plum notes with a touch of pepper and spice.

    8. Haley Bauman

Pair with steak. Notes of currant, plum, spices, and earth. Medium tannins for cab.

    9. Lorenza Ramsey

Full-bodied with a sweet pie nose, accented by spice and pipe tobacco. Dark cherries, blackberries, and blueberries. Reasonably integrated tannins with a walk-in humidor vibe.

    10. George Zachary

Dark color, deep nose, cherry and black cherry flavors, touch of menthol and minerality. Great mouth feel and moderately long finish.

    11. Michael Trexler

Powerful notes of red and black fruit. Needs aging.

    12. James Carter

New favorite winery. Subtle cab, balanced tannins. Silky goodness on the tongue.

    13. Samuel Smith

Unique New World Cabernet Sauvignon with noteworthy savory elements. Crafted from Phinny Hill and Bacchus fruit, conveying a pronounced sense of luxurious mouthfeel. Perfectly balanced and off-the-chain QPR!

    14. Mariko Gonzalez

Initial expectation of Chateau Margaux, but realized halfway through it was different. Still delicious and could potentially age well.

    15. Mary Nobles

Consumed 2 more bottles, regretfully. Great for aging, but requires patience.

    16. Frederick Butler

Great Graves with mineral, earth, and black fruit notes. Soft mid-palate, mineral finish, and high acidity. Very fine.

    17. Norman Taylor

Decant this wine for at least 70 minutes to fully enjoy its notes of gunpowder and extracted fruit tannins, finishing with black pepper and manure. It improves even more after 3 hours. Nose may have too much EtOh. Rating: 90-91+.

    18. Michelle Taylor

Good value, not as enjoyable as the 2014 Keenan.

    19. Gregg Hellman

Fruit forward with ripe black fruits, mint, and chocolate. Great structure.

    20. Sandra Vires

Classic Cabernet nose with cassis and a hint of green pepper. Fresh and has good acidity. Has potential but needs aging.

    21. Carolyn Connel

Elegant but needs time. Hold off drinking.

    22. James Roberts

Fresh nose with dark red fruits, florals, and graphite. Silky textures combine dark fruit and sweet spice with minerality and acidity. Youthful tannins lead to a long, spicy finish with fine tannins and lingering acidity.

    23. Carl Vines

Balanced tannin. Modest minerality. Red and black fruit with subtle hints of chocolate, mushroom, and cedar. Medium-bodied.

    24. Dave Page

Excellent follow-up to the impressive 07 Schweiger Spring Mountain.

    25. Jeffrey Marc

Solid cab with a great nose. Decant for an hour before enjoying. Drinking well now with good potential for aging.

    26. Erin Bailey

Balanced with a long finish. Oak, flowers, fruits, red raspberries, and chocolate on the nose. Slightly astringent, lacks concentration. Best served with food.

    27. James Nakano

      Elegant, but unopened.

    28. Deborah Perez

Youthful 2015 with a pretty, complex nose of red and black fruit and a touch of cranberry. Flush mid-palate with a tight back, light on its feet, and a long finish.

    29. Joseph Amezaga

Enjoyed with prime rib. Flavors changed as it warmed up, peaking at 61F with notes of spice. Will seek out more to age.

    30. Brooke Murphy

Acidity and tannins overpower fruit; needs more time.

    31. Cody Vann

Delicious red berries and deeper purple fruits mix with pepper spice and tar. Nice weight and richness with a tannic bite that will resolve.

    32. Matthew Painter

Nose: Violets and cherry juice. Taste: Light with cherry and herb notes. Fruity finish with a maraschino cherry twist.

    33. Janice Lapointe

Improved from my last tasting note. Dusty cinnamon/cardamom finish. Medium body. Perfect for steak.

    34. Maria Kammerer

Balanced blueberry and dark cherry notes with a hint of damp bramble. Great tannin and acidity. Excellent wine.

    35. Angela Giles

      Superb.

    36. Bobbie Jones

Great pairing with truffle fries and steak. Vanilla notes dominate.

    37. Jerry Hearn

Great upon opening. 14.3% ABV. 89-90.

    38. Brian Romero

Silky with good tannins, hints of smoke and green on the nose. Rich and full-bodied fruit bomb. Perfect for lasagna.

    39. Diana Hansen

Classic. Perfect with grilled NY strip. Improved as the night went on.

    40. Judith Chaney

Nose of black cherry, cocoa, graphite, and bell pepper. Palate of blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, and pepper. Medium(+) body, acidity, and tannins. Long finish.

    41. Odette Knight

Silky smooth, better on day 2, agreed with Morels.

    42. Gerald Tomlinson

Good, but 2013 was better. 2014 is lighter and less sophisticated. Red fruit, plum, subtle tannins, medium finish.

    43. Lionel Moody

Great QPR. Light in color and texture but has a wonderful rich fruit bouquet with a balanced taste. Complex and worth 3x the price.

    44. Nohemi Bell

Balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with integrated oak and flavors of black fruits, graphite, cedar, and toast.

    45. Sadie Ross

Flavors of cassis, dark chocolate, and a dusty finish make for a pretty wine.

    46. Marcus Helems

Delicious wine with great fruit and body, perfect for pairing with a big juicy steak. Allow time to open up.

    47. Thomas Kibby

Great Washington cab at Mashomack’s 4th of July party.

    48. Vanessa Mcmillan

Opaque, full-bodied, and fruit-forward with hints of black cherry, blackberry, and earth. Aged for 22 months in French oak. Fans of Bordeaux blends will enjoy. 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot.

    49. Danny Meluso

Young wine with a dense palate and hints of pencil, chocolate, cherries, mushroom, and mint. Outstanding finish with wood, milk chocolate, fruit, and lightly astringent tannin.

    50. William Campbell

Balanced, smooth tannins. Drink now or wait 4-5 years.

    51. Randall Killay

Balanced, fun, and delicious. Full of tart fruit and cab typicity. Not overly alcoholic, but plush. A great example of new world cab.

    52. Nickolas Barstow

      Worth repurchasing.

    53. Courtney Moss

Deep purple wine with very ripe black plum, prune, blackberry, cinnamon, chocolate, and clove notes on the nose. Dry with medium+ acidity, silky tannins, high alcohol, full body, and medium+ finish. Possibly a Cab from Washington with an overused toast on barrel character.

    54. Barbara Paynter

Spicy cherry notes with a warm finish. Complex and enjoyable.

    55. John Glahn

Outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon blend with explosive fruit and refreshing herbal notes. Could benefit from cellar time. $60.

    56. Ma Hollowell

Balanced and rich with dark fruits, stalky greens, cocoa, and acidity. Overdelivers and lasts for three nights.

    57. Geraldine Watts

Fruit forward with dark cherry, chocolate notes. Smooth and luxurious with a nice long finish.

    58. Frances Fuller

      Review: Juicy black cherry, proper.

    59. Kenneth Renfro

Strong Cab notes with off-putting acidity. Rating dropped from 91 to 90. Decent wine, but better choices at this price. Not for long-term aging.

    60. Donald Fleming

Solid tasting experience with notes of wood, spice, plum, and earth. Nice fruit and dusty finish.

    61. Bernie Dunn

Classic WA cabernet with blackberry, coffee, and bramble notes. Smooth tannins make it easy to drink. Ready in the next 5 years, not 20 as suggested.

    62. Pablo Singer

“Waited for a reason. Strikingly beautiful, seamless palate. A stunner.”

    63. Charlotte Reaves

Winning deep maroon wine. Ripe red/black fruit aromas with floral, spice, and cedar notes. Fantastic dark stone fruit flavors with chocolate, spice, and minerals. Silky, smooth, and balanced.

    64. Richard Hampton

Flavors of cassis, plum and anise seed with soft tannin and balanced acidity. Precise and plush with green notes. Standard oak with a firm finish. Delicious and recommended.

    65. Robert Lowe

Best of three, outshines the 13’s. Well done.

    66. Ardith Salazar

Dark, brooding and assertive with notes of red and black fruit, cocoa and acidity. Needs time but promising.

    67. Douglass Park

Good Bordeaux-style wine, elegant and medium-bodied. No nose at first, but gained complexity and fun flavors after an hour. Always a favorite. W Porterhouse in JH.

    68. William Steib

Deep purple with crimson edge. Notes of dark plum, strawberry, tobacco leaf, and herb. Blackberry, cassis, sweet tobacco, and cocoa with subtle tannic structure. Nice acidity and weight. Holds for a few more years.

    69. Corey Williams

“Great with filet, better than 2017 Phinney Hill. Exuberant fruit, nice body, decent length. Perfect for first dinner after construction.”

    70. Ronald Montalvo

Balanced wine with good fruit and length. Porkchop/grill overshadowed the elegance. Needs more time.

    71. Bernard Huber

Dark ruby, ripe plum and blackberry nose. Luscious taste with leather oak sour cherry. Balanced acid and tannin. Long finish.

    72. Allen Gibbs

Needs more time or long decant, well made.

    73. David Oliver

Dark purple with berry and red fruit aromas, juicy palate with earthy minerals, oak, smooth tannins, and a lovely long finish.

    74. William West

Dark purple with red berry and cherry aromas, spicy notes, and earthy herbal tones. Bold, dense tannins make for a delicious wine with great acidity and mineral undertones.

    75. Wanda Magnuson

Needed more time to breathe, but after 60 minutes it showcased earthy tones and pencil shavings, complementing the red fruit. Long finish.

    76. WE

Fresh herb and flower aromas are out front, followed by notes of spice and plum. The palate is layered and restrained, with plenty of acidity and tannic structure supporting it all. It’s far from a big bruiser, but this is serious Cabernet, with impeccable balance.

    77. WA

Dark ruby with soft purple highlights, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon has an impactful and precise nose of juicy plum, dark cherry and blackberry essence that waft with elegant French oak tones of vanilla, cinnamon and cardamom. Medium to full-bodied, the wine has a succulent mouthfeel with oak flavors that bind effortlessly to juicy, plump and dark blackberry essence with subtle flavors of dried herbs and bitter dark chocolate. With a long, drawn-out finish, the wine displays all of its complexities as it lingers on the palate with persistence and a tannic grip. This wine is about layers and texture. Give it a try!

    78. VIN

Full, dark red. Cool aromas of redcurrant, tobacco leaf, licorice, black pepper and menthol. Very suave and smooth on entry, then pure but reticent in the middle palate, conveying subtle salinity to the flavors of dark berries, soil, graphite and licorice. No easy sweetness here! This classically dry, Old World-style Cabernet is still a bit cool and laid-back but should evolve gracefully. Finishes with firm but fine-grained tannins and subtle savory grip. But not quite the depth for an even higher rating.
