Boars’ View ‘The Coast’ Pinot Noir 2018, crafted by the esteemed winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, is a remarkable expression of the Sonoma Coast appellation. In this vintage, nature cooperated to create a wine that captivates with its intricate flavors and impeccable structure. The wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir sourced from Boars’ View Vineyard near Cazadero, and it showcases a blend of Calera, Mt. Eden, and Swan clones.

The wine presents itself in the glass with a deep, garnet color that alludes to its richness. On the nose, aromas of cranberry compote, sandalwood, and lavender gracefully waft, enticing the senses with their complexity. As you delve into the palate, layers upon layers of flavors unfold. The dense texture carries flavors of black cherry, nutmeg, quince, plum paste, and lilac, creating a symphony of taste. The Pinot Noir The Coast underwent complete destemming and spent 10 months maturing in a combination of François Frares, Remond, and Gauthier French oak barrels, with 50% new oak. This meticulous winemaking process shines through in the wine’s bouquet of sweet black raspberry fruits, baking spices, forest floor, licorice, and earthy undertones.
