Anthony Thevenet Morgon 2021 has a light garnet color with medium legs and no sediment, giving off aromas of bubble gum, blackberry, cranberry, gooseberry, and cinnamon. The taste is light on the palate, with prominent flavors of blackberry and cranberry, that mellow with a light/medium body and polished texture. On the backend, hints of raspberry and cinnamon are present, balanced by medium acidity and a medium finish.

The mix of vineyards from Douby and Courcelette provide a soil of soft granite sands that lend to the delicate, subtle, but complex characteristics of the wine. The cellar observes a carbonic maceration without added sulfur, and the 5-8 months aging period in concrete vats with a low dose of added sulfur is crucial to ensuring the Morgon achieves its unique characteristics.

The wine’s mild intensity and medium finish make it approachable and assertive, although it mellows quickly with hints of dusty violets, iodine, red cherry, raspberry, broken stems, and clove.
