SummitVine, a distinguished winery, began its journey in 1998 atop the breathtaking Diamond Mountain. It wasn’t originally planned to grow grapes here, but by 2000, with Diamond Mountain earning AVA status, the potential for unique grape cultivation became clear. The first vines were planted in 2001, and by 2004, SummitVine was on its way to producing extraordinary wines.

Location and Vineyards

SummitVine is nestled within the Diamond Mountain District, northwestern Napa Valley, situated about 1450 feet above the valley. The rugged terrain of the Mayacamas Mountains offers just 6 acres of vines. This challenging environment, characterized by porous volcanic soils, gives birth to the distinct flavors found in SummitVine Wines.

Farming Practices

The art of winemaking at SummitVine starts with the soil. Michael Klopka, deeply involved in the farming operations for over 15 years, emphasizes the best practices in vine cultivation. Their method focuses on close collaboration with growers and detailed management of vineyard operations to produce the finest grapes.
