La Serena

La Serena, a renowned winery nestled in the picturesque Montalcino winemaking region of Tuscany, offers a superb selection of red wines, including Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino, and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva.

Steeped in history, the Mantengoli family has been the proud owner of La Serena since 1933. However, it wasn’t until 1988 that they unveiled their inaugural vintages of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wines. Today, the estate is lovingly tended by Andrea, Elisabetta, and their son Giorgio, collectively producing around 30,000 bottles annually.

La Serena’s vineyards span 9 hectares (22 acres), exclusively dedicated to the Sangiovese grape variety. What sets them apart is their commitment to organic farming practices, fostering a harmonious relationship between nature and viticulture. These vineyards thrive on a unique combination of clay and limestone soils.

The winemaking process at La Serena is as thoughtful as their farming methods. Harvesting is a meticulous, hands-on affair, while vinification occurs in an eco-friendly winery designed by Marcello Mantengoli. The building boasts insulation via cork panels and a cutting-edge geothermal system, ensuring precise cellar temperature control throughout production.
