Nestled within the Mendocino Ridge Appellation, Drew Wines is a beacon of cool-climate winemaking excellence. Founded in 2000 by Jason and Molly Drew, their vision was clear: to create small-lot wines that celebrate site-specific nuances and the essence of traditional grape varietals.

The Drew journey began when they stumbled upon a forgotten 26-acre apple orchard within Mendocino Ridge, an orchard that others saw as daunting. Jason and Molly, however, saw the potential in the ancient oceanic soils, the south-facing slopes at 1250 ft elevation, and the proximity to the Pacific Ocean, a mere 3.3 miles away. This was the birthplace of the Drew estate winery, Faîte De Mer Farm.

Their eight-acre estate vineyard is a testament to their commitment to quality. It features a diverse collection of California heritage field selections, suitcase selections, and Dijon clones of Pinot Noir. Additionally, two acres of Chardonnay and a small truffle orchard complement the apple orchard. Faîte De Mer Farm follows certified organic practices, carrying on a 30-plus year tradition of sustainable farming.

Jason Drew, a true vigneron, brings his extensive experience in vineyard farming and winemaking to Drew Wines. With a background in agroecology, viticulture, and a graduate degree in enology, he has honed his skills both in the northern and southern hemispheres.

While Faîte De Mer Farm remains their focal point, Drew Wines also holds several Anderson Valley and Mendocino Ridge sites in high regard. They meticulously select single vineyard sources based on climate, clonal diversity, and soil complexity. Their winemaking philosophy embraces traditional methods, including whole-cluster and native yeast fermentations, hand punchdowns, and minimal intervention, resulting in wines that beautifully reflect their cool-climate terroir. Drew Wines is a true testament to their passion for crafting exceptional wines.
