Youthful dark ruby in color, our 2019 Peter Franus Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Brandlin Vineyard’ presents a vibrant and enticing medley of aromas’”classic cassis, bay, white pepper, graphite, and dried herbs. The expansive and youthful palate reflects the nose with a structure perhaps a bit firmer than the 2018. The wine is opulent, focused, and seamless–held in check with a finish that lingers and surprises. Here is proof that mountain Cabernets can offer restraint and balance!

3 reviews for Peter Franus Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Brandlin Vineyard’ 2019

    1. WS

Dense yet defined, with sappy kirsch, blackberry and boysenberry reduction laced with licorice snap, violet and apple wood notes. The long finish has heft but is very well-detailed, with an iron accent chiming in. One for the cellar. Best from 2024 through 2038.

    2. WA

Scents of crushed stone and pencil shavings join cassis, cocoa and cherries on the nose of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Brandlin Vineyard, which comes from Mount Veeder. It’s classically built, with a juicy, refreshing feel on the medium to full-bodied palate, silky tannins and a long finish.

    3. VIN

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Brandlin Vineyard is another total knock-out from Peter Franus. Rich, deep and explosive, the 2019 captures plenty of Mount Veeder inkiness and density, while also avoiding some of the more angular contours often found in young Cabernets here. Graphite, crushed rocks, blackberry jam, crème de cassis, lavender and menthol build into the deep, beautifully resonant finish.

    History
Mount Veeder’s viticultural roots stretch back to the mid-19th Century. Although many vineyards flourished on this mountainous terrain by the dawn of the 20th Century, Prohibition halted viticultural activities. It wasn't until the 1960s, amidst Napa Valley's wine revival, that Mount Veeder saw resurgence. This unique region earned its American Viticultural Area (AVA) designation in 1990, an accolade that... ...Check Region for more information
