Dark, high-toned fruit from the Walla Walla Valley is the predominant source for the 2019 Persued By Bear ‘Bear Cub’ Red Wine, a Cab-driven blend. Grapes sourced from the Wahluke Slope and Yakima Valley add layered complexity. A small amount of Horse Heaven Hills Syrah, aged in 600L Taransaud puncheons, adds richness and depth to the mid-palate. Aged 20 months in 100% French oak.

    Cabernet-Merlot-Syrah varietal
Cabernet-Merlot-Syrah grape varietal blends are an exquisite amalgamation of some of the world's most beloved red wine grapes. These blends are renowned for their robust flavors and are cultivated in various wine-producing regions globally. Each grape brings its unique characteristics to the blend, creating a harmonious and complex wine. What is the Cabernet – Merlot – Syrah Grape Varietal? This blend combines Cabernet (both Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc), Merlot, and Syrah (also known as Shiraz) grapes. Originating as core ingredients in the traditional red Bordeaux blend, this combination has evolved, especially in New World winemaking, to include Syrah. This inclusion adds a new dimension of flavor and complexity to the blend. Regions and Growing...Please check Cabernet-Merlot-Syrah for more information
    Columbia Valley

The history of the Columbia Valley wine region dates back to the 1860s when grape cultivation first began. The area, approved as an AVA in 1987, spans over 11 million acres in the southeastern corner of Washington State. It encompasses renowned sub-AVAs such as Red Mountain, Walla Walla Valley, and Horse Heaven Hills, situated around the Columbia River and its tributaries, the Walla Walla, Yakima, and Snake rivers. The valley's topography, shaped by glacial floods from Lake Missoula during the last Ice Age, boasts diverse soils ranging from volcanic to alluvial, thanks to the deposition of materials over time.
