A beautiful pure expression of Malbec, the nose delights with rhubarb and red cherries. The acidity is bright, while the mouthfeel is silky and framed by broad tannins.

    1. WA

Made from 100% Malbec, the 2018 Malbec Mt. Veeder was aged for 22 months in oak, 34% new. Deep garnet-purple colored, the nose is flamboyantly scented of baked plums, blackberry compote and blueberry coulis with wafts of baking spices and dried Provence herbs. Full-bodied, the palate is packed with concentrated black and blue fruits, supported by firm, grainy tannins, going long, lively and with a spicy kick on the finish. 582 cases were made.

    2. JD

All varietal, the 2018 Malbec is terrific and well worth seeking out. Sporting a dense purple color as well as impressive notes of spiced red and blue fruits, violets, toasted bread, and herbes de Provence-like nuances, it’s medium to full-bodied, has a rounded, mouthfilling texture, and enough velvety tannins to keep it showing well for over a decade.

    3. JS

Chili, blackberry and blueberry aromas with a full body, firm and round tannins and a flavorful, savory finish. Rather chunky. Drink after 2023.

    4. VIN

The 2018 Malbec opens with a rush of inky red/purplish fruit, rose petals, lavender and spice. Rich, pliant and super-expressive, the 2018 is a winner in this range from Mt. Brave. All the elements come together beautifully in this sumptuous, structured Malbec. I would cellar the 2018 for at least a few years. It’s a gorgeous wine.

    Malbec
Malbec, a grape varietal that has journeyed from the obscure vineyards of France to the sun-drenched hills of Argentina, stands today as a wine of international acclaim. This transformation from an almost forgotten grape to a celebrated wine icon is a story of adaptability, flavor, and the perfect marriage of nature and nurture. Originally from Cahors in Southwest France, Malbec is also known traditionally as Côt or Auxerrois. In its French homeland, it struggled with climatic challenges and diseases like downy mildew. However, its relocation to Argentina marked a dramatic turn in its fortunes. Here, particularly in Mendoza, Malbec found its ideal terroir. The Argentine Andes provide not just stunning backdrops but also the perfect climatic conditions for Malbec. High altitudes ensure...Please check Malbec for more information

    History
Mount Veeder’s viticultural roots stretch back to the mid-19th Century. Although many vineyards flourished on this mountainous terrain by the dawn of the 20th Century, Prohibition halted viticultural activities. It wasn't until the 1960s, amidst Napa Valley's wine revival, that Mount Veeder saw resurgence. This unique region earned its American Viticultural Area (AVA) designation in 1990, an accolade that... ...Check Region for more information
