    Color: Medium ruby.
Nose: The nose opens with autumnal whispers of truffle and forest floor, seamlessly interwoven with the warmth of cinnamon and the delicate astringency of Earl Grey tea leaves. This is underscored by a vivid heart of wild berry fruit that captures the essence of the coastal Green Valley terroir, with added hints of wild berries, thyme, spearmint, and a truffle-like umami.

Food Pairings: The dynamic profile of DuMol ‘Ryan’ Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2021, characterized by its savory and mineral complexities alongside vibrant fruit, calls for dishes that can match its depth without overshadowing its intricacies. Consider pairing with:
-Duck breast with a cherry reduction, playing off the wine's own cherry notes and complementing its earthy undertones.
-Grilled salmon with a wild berry glaze, the acidity of the wine cutting through the richness of the fish.
-Mushroom risotto, the umami flavors of the dish harmonizing with the truffle and savory elements of the wine.
-Herb-crusted lamb chops, the thyme and spearmint notes in the wine will resonate with the herbal crust.
-A cheese board featuring aged Gouda and creamy Brie, which will resonate with the wine’s supple tannins and fruity undertones.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Ryan has a medium ruby color and autumnal scents of truffle and forest floor, cinnamon and Earl Grey tea leaves complementing a core of wild berry fruit. (In 2021, the wine comes from the Dutton-Jentoft and Widdoes vineyards rather than 100% from Jentoft as in previous vintages.) The medium-bodied palate is supple and detailed with a concentrated core of mineral-driven fruit. It has a silky texture, energetic acidity, and a long, layered finish. This is so delicious and very easy to drink!

    Vinous
The 2021 Pinot Noir Ryan is a wild, potent wine. Tasted from tank, the 2021 comes across as raw and not fully finished, which is not terribly surprising. Intensely savory and mineral, the 2021 is very tightly wound at this stage. Sweet floral, citrus and exotic spice notes emerge over time, but the 2021 is a mere infant.

    The Wine Independent
The 2021 Pinot Noir Ryan is a blend of two Dutton Ranch Vineyards, 56% Widdoes and 44% Jentoft. No whole-cluster fermentation was used. Medium ruby-purple in color, it pops from the glass with evocative, classic scents of black cherries, boysenberries, and pomegranate with suggestions of red roses, forest floor, and cinnamon toast. The medium-bodied palate is seductively plush and juicy, laden with expressive red and black berry layers, finishing long and pure
