Crafted by esteemed Winemaker Tony Biagi, the 2021 Blueline Estate Merlot from Hourglass is an embodiment of power and depth. A profound, dark intensity characterizes this vintage, revealing an intriguing fusion of aromas. Ripe dark plum and red cherry aromas entwine with savory hints of black olive tapenade, hoisin, mandarin orange peel, and herbal undertones, creating an intricate sensory journey. As the tasting experience unfolds, the fruit evolves, growing richer and more profound, culminating in notes of black sour cherry and crame de cassis. This seamless journey is marked by a rich texture that seamlessly balances the wine’s expansiveness with natural acidity, supple tannins, and the vibrant minerality distinctive to Hourglass’ Blueline Estate.

Renowned wine critic Jeb Dunnuck awards the 2021 Merlot Blueline Estate an impressive 95 points, lauding its plush, rounded, and supple character. Dunnuck highlights the wine’s decadent style, showcasing classic ripe black cherry and currant flavors with a satisfying mid-palate density. Ripe tannins complement the background notes of chocolaty oak and tobacco, ensuring immediate enjoyment upon opening. This vintage exemplifies Hourglass’ commitment to producing exceptional wines that resonate with both critics and enthusiasts alike.
