Wine Description

Deeply saturated in color, the 2019 Vineyard 29 CEANDA Cabernet Sauvignon immediately charms with a bouquet of black currants, cassis, cocoa powder and violets. This full-bodied wine seamlessly weaves around the palate with layers of anise, fresh coffee grounds, black cherries and pops of violets. Concentrated and rich but never losing its freshness, look for plushness from its predominantly Cabernet blend and intriguing savory notes from the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. All of these textures and flavors culminate on a high note before gracefully transitioning into a sweepingly long finish. Plenty of intensity and supreme age ability but with an earlier approachability than the single vineyard Estate wines. Quite simply, delicious.

3 reviews for Vineyard 29 ‘Ceanda’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

  1. WE

This powerful wine is destined for a long life and increasing complexity. Made from selected vineyard blocks in three estate vineyards, it goes deep in black cherries, blueberries and blackberries that are amply spiced with wood smoke, cinnamon and espresso notes backed by full, fine-grained tannins. Best from 2028.

  2. JD

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Ceanda comes all from St. Helena and is based on 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Petit Verdot and Merlot. Aged 20 months in 75% new oak, it has a pure, layered, balanced, and full-bodied style as well as textbook notes of darker currants, tobacco leaf, new leather, and chocolate. Its oak is beautifully integrated, and again, the purity of fruit is remarkable. Drink it over the coming 15-20 years. There are 947 cases produced.

  3. VIN

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Ceanda is a blend mostly from Aida and Vineyard 29. Blackberry jam, chocolate, spice, graphite new leather, licorice, espresso and crushed rocks are all kicked up in this potent, Cabernet Sauvignon. Attractive savory notes from the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot in the blend add character. The 2019 is a gorgeous wine that offers plenty of richness and intensity but in a more approachable style than the flagships.
