  1. JD

Coming from the Santa Cruz Mountains, the 2019 Chardonnay Estate offers a beautiful sense of reduction and minerality in its stone fruits, toasted brioche, and crushed stone-like aromas and flavors. A kiss of green almonds and salinity emerges with time in the glass, and this is a beautiful, classic Chardonnay from this team that will evolve gracefully for a good 20 years or more.

  2. JS

Concentrated aromas of hawthorn, dried pineapple, salted caramel and buttered toast. It’s full-bodied with bright acidity and intense, tightly wound layers of ripe, spiced fruit. Fantastic phenolic tension and energy here. Drink or hold.

  3. WIL

The 2019 Ridge Estate Chardonnay deftly combines richness with balance. TASTING NOTES: This wine offers lovely aromas and flavors of green apple, bright citrus, and an accent of oak. Enjoy it with pan-fried halibut.

Chardonnay
Chardonnay, a green-skinned grape variety, is renowned in the world of white wine production. Originating from France's Burgundy region, it has spread globally, becoming a staple in diverse wine regions from the cooler climates of England to the sunnier terrains of New Zealand. Its cultivation is often viewed as a benchmark for emerging wine regions, symbolizing their entry into the global wine scene. The grape itself is relatively neutral, allowing the environment (terroir) and winemaking techniques, especially oak aging, to play significant roles in shaping the wine's flavor profile. Chardonnay is known for its versatility in styles - ranging from the mineral-rich, crisp wines of Chablis to the oak-infused, tropical-flavored varieties of the New World.
