The 2020 vintage for Perchance Estates Beckstoffer Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon highlights the exceptional fruit quality that I have come to expect from its strategically located blocks from within the vineyard. Harvested at night closer to dawn on September 18, 2020, the grapes were crushed and fermented and the resulting juice was aged in all new Darnajou and Taransaud French oak barrels, resulting in a plush and dynamic Cabernet Sauvignon.

In the glass, the wine presents with a strikingly deep dark ruby color with inky purple accents, immediately followed an astonishingly inviting perfume of black cherries, cassis, plumbs, baking spice, and chocolate. The exquisite aromatics dovetail onto the palate with sumptuous and layered waves of concentrated chocolate covered blue fruits that opulently coat your mouth with a velvety symphony of silky texture and flamboyant complexities.  The wine is impeccably balanced, with optimal levels of density and concentration and crescendos into a luxuriously long and graceful finish that remains with you for over 90 seconds.

This vintage highlights the distinction of the Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III and its attributes are displayed front and center, which is to say that this offering is an impeccably balanced wine, full of rich flavor and distinction, while still remaining animated and lively on the palate. It is well rounded and flawlessly balanced with well-integrated tannins that provide a prominent structure all the way through its exceedingly long and gratifying finish. The wine can be enjoyed upon receipt with a healthy decant, and I have every confidence that it will evolve spectacularly over the next 25+ years.
