Paul Lato
Paul Lato's journey into the world of winemaking is a testament to passion and perseverance. Hailing from Poland, Lato's voyage began as a certified Sommelier in Toronto's upscale dining scene. California's wine country beckoned, and in the early 1990s, he made his first visit, setting the stage for a remarkable transformation. Guided by Jim Clendenen of ABC Winery & Clendenen Wines, Lato took a leap of faith, relocating to California. Despite starting at Bien Nacido vineyards for a humble wage of $10.00 hourly, he immersed himself in the craft. Under the mentorship of industry luminaries and fueled by relentless curiosity, Lato nurtured his winemaking skills. Mary Rivera –
Fruit and mineralic flavors blend in this solid Viognier with honeydew and peach notes. Its sharp mineral finish and low sweetness complemented well with spicy chicken. Nicely priced and good for Thai food pairing.
Mandy Currin –
New winemaker, lacks balance, too sweet, missing acidity and refreshing citrus pith.
David Campbell –
Greenish-yellow color. Aromas of baking bread with hints of nectarine. Creamy nectarine taste with long mineral finish.
Christopher Gilmore –
Clear pale straw with lilac, butterscotch, and straw aromas. Medium to high acidity, slightly sweet with a hint of lemon peel. Short acidic finish.
Veronica Lepore –
Lively Viognier with delicate stone fruit and flower notes. Energetic mid-palate with occasional candy floss and melon elements. Best paired with crab.
David Monroe –
Outstanding Viognier with expressive aromas of apricot, honeysuckle flowers, stone, and spice. Balanced medium acidity with full tropical and citrus notes. Rich mid-palate and a nice finish.
