The Pasxa Rockgarden Vineyard Syrah 2020 is a classically-styled Rocks District syrah that is expertly crafted in collaboration by winemaker Todd Alexander and Rockgarden Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley AVA. Showing an inky purple core, this wine offers intense aromas of black plum, wild macerated blueberry, iodine, iron, smoked meat, crushed black olives, and dried flowers, and a gentle kiss of sweet baking spice. On the palate, it is intense and complex, filled with meaty flavors with a heavy dose of ground black pepper that is balanced with a heavenly purity of black fruit. Long and opulent, this wine evokes a distinct graphite quality from the Rocks District, capped off with firm polished tannins and a great finish. An amazing example of the Rocks District and professionally-crafted Syrah, the Pasxa Rockgarden Vineyard Syrah 2020 is undeniably excellent and highly recommended.

    1. Michael Jefferys

Walla Walla Syrah Festival Grand Tasting (Valdemar Cellars Walla Walla): Wine 3 of the Night at the Walla Walla Syrah Festival Grand Tasting. Classic Rock Garden with rose petals, funk, pepper, gravel, red currants and earth. Long and complex finish. This will improve with age. Get some now! 95+

    2. Frances Pugh

Rich, delicious, very smooth blackberry fruit with funk, gravel, and dark red currant flavors, excellent structure, long finish, darker and less sweet than Cayuse Syrahs, distinctly Rock District syrah

    3. Andy Erwin

An incredible, profound wine, with effortless elegance and flawless, understated power.

    4. IWR

Another classic The Rocks style of Syrah from Todd Alexander, and a gorgeous one at that. The 2020 Rockgarden Syrah delivers an inky purple core with a neon pink rim, and boasts notes of black plum, wild macerated blueberry, iodine, iron, smoked meat, crushed black olives, dried flowers, and a smooch of sweet baking spice. Meaty flavors, combined with ground black pepper, hits the front palate hard, but the purity of the black fruit shines forth on the finish. Todd’s wines always display this scintillating graphite quality from The Rocks, compared to that citrusy grapefruit quality that shines forth in his top competitor’s wines from the same area. Unbelievably good and highly recommended.

    5. JD

A classic Rocks District Syrah, the 2020 Syrah Rockgarden Vineyard has ample meaty, bloody blue fruits as well as notes of iron, tapenade, lavender, and peppery herbs. Gorgeous on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, it has polished tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish.
