Wine Description

The rosy red hue draws you deep into the glass, followed by developing aromas of ripe raspberry, tobacco, and baking spice, leaving you craving a fine cigar. The medium-bodied palate of 2017 Laird Syrah ‘Suscol Ranch’ is bursting with bright acid, sweet fruit and soft supple tannins. Notes of tart plum, juniper, cracked pepper and honey baked ham dance across the tongue. This would be a great pairing for slow smoked baby back ribs or a grilled Portabella mushroom sandwich. Drink now to 2026.

Rancho Suscol was part of a Mexican land grant to General Vallejo in 1843, and later populated by the Patwin tribe. The region is cool and influenced by the San Pablo Bay. These conditions help create mature flavors and balance in the remarkable Syrah from a very historic property.
