Wine Description
The purity of dark red and blue fruits provides an immediate sense of the complexity of this fully ripe 2018 Keever Cabernet Sauvignon. Notes of raspberry jam and blackberry briars round out the initial impression. On the palate the wine is full, plush and round at entry, with the focused fruit aromas dominating the mid-palate.
As the palate impression continues, the fully ripe, velvety fruit tannins provide a lovely foundation for the dark fruit flavors, leaving a lingering sensation of fresh raspberries.

Cabernet Sauvignon is a red grape varietal that is widely regarded as one of the world's most popular and highly valued wine grapes. This grape is grown in many regions around the world, including France, the United States, Australia, Chile, and Argentina. The wine made from this grape is known for its intense flavor, high tannin content, and longevity. Cabernet Sauvignon is a hybrid grape, the result of a cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, which are both native to the Bordeaux region of France. The grape is known for its thick skin, which helps it to withstand harsh weather conditions, and its small berries, which contribute to its concentrated flavor. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are typically harvested in the late fall, when the grapes have reached their optimal... Read More

Yountville, a prestigious AVA located in California's renowned Napa Valley, boasts a rich history and an ideal geographical position. Situated at the heart of Napa Valley, it lies between San Pablo Bay's northern shores and Mount St Helena's southern slopes. The town of Yountville is surrounded by famous subregions such as Oakville, Mount Veeder, and Stags Leap. The region's history is linked to George C. Yount, who planted Napa's first vineyard in the 1830s at Rancho Caymus. Over time, Yount's landholdings expanded to encompass valuable viticultural land now known as Rutherford, Oakville, and Yountville. Today, the... Read More

I also loved the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, which brings another level of purity and class, offering gorgeous crème de cassis, lead pencil shavings, white flowers, tobacco leaf, vanilla bean, and damp earth-like aromas and flavors. Pure, clean, full-bodied, and just a classy, flawlessly balanced beauty, it has fine tannins, the freshness of the vintage, and a great finish. Enjoy bottles over the coming 15-20 years.

Keever’s 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is fabulous. In fact, it is one of the very best wines I have ever tasted here. Rich and explosive, with striking depth, the 2018 is beautifully layered and so expressive from the very first taste. Succulent dark cherry, plum, spice, menthol, and licorice all build as this sumptuous Cabernet shows off its curves. I would give the 2018 a few years in bottle to soften. In a word: fabulous.
