A beautiful wine from a near-perfect vintage, this robust Cabernet Sauvignon shows balance and complexity’”a blend of dark berry, generous oak notes, clove, and nutmeg. This is a supple and complex wine, full-bodied in style, with a punch of power, ripeness, and elegance from start to finish.

  1. Sherie Boggio

Decanted for about 30 minutes, Well balanced, with good structure, but will continue to improve with age. Full bodied with medium tannins. Dark fruits and cherries. For full disclosure, I am a Frank Family fan, so I might have added 1 point to the score for bias.

  2. Carmen Andrews

Vibrant purple color. Warm and inviting on the nose with fallen leaves, clove, potpourri and tobacco over top deep black cherries and dark plums, with herbal tea and toffee tones. Juicy and fresh on the palate, with chewy tannins and a ripe but nuanced feel. Tangy black cherry and red and black currant fruit, with complexities of eucalyptus, mint, pepper and earth. The savory tones and fruit nuances need time to come out, but this is such a delightful Cab. Aged 20 months in 33% new French oak.

  3. Jeffrey Thompson

Bright purple color with slow legs. Toasted oak, cassis, blackberry and a hint of tobacco on the nose. Plum, black cherry, clove and tea on the palate. Nice velvety finish.

  4. Daniel Glowacky

PNP….very nice can….slightly dry… good balance l…. Very nice fruit forward… slightly dry… smooth finish. Good deal at $35. Will by more for everyday use.

  5. Seth Cassidy

bright fruit forward a bit more tannic than I prefer and will do well in bottle over next 4-5 years.

  6. Wilfredo Newman

Pnp at a restaurant and drinking well right away. Dark fruited, smooth, integrated, balanced, tannins present but appropriate. If the ‘18 Mount Veeder Cab was my go to hotel wine, this Frank family ‘19 is fast becoming my go to steakhouse wine. Unfortunately not a QPR at steakhouse prices (3x!!) but it is a solid option on any list. And great QPR if you buy retail and drink at home

  7. WA

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it comes racing out of the glass with bold notes of warm cassis, cedar and mulberries, plus wafts of dried mint, tobacco and lavender. Medium to full-bodied, soft and juicy in the mouth, it is packed with bright fruit, finishing long and lifted.

  8. JD

Lots of spicy, sappy herbs, sandalwood, and tobacco notes emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon from Frank Family Vineyards. A classic, old-school-like expression of the variety, it has plenty of fruit, silky tannins, and lots of character. It’s well worth following over the coming 10-12 years.

  9. JS

A fresh and clean Napa cabernet with blackcurrants and hints of fresh herbs, such as parsley and thyme. Medium-bodied, delicious and bright.

  10. TSJ

A big, meaty, and comforting Cab, with classic cassis, herbs, and a hint of boysenberry on the nose and palate joining appealing, toasty notes of spice. Excellent concentration, fresh acidity, structured tannins, and a long finish.

  11. VIN

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a bold, juicy wine to drink now and over the next decade or so. Black cherry, mocha, new leather, licorice and bittersweet chocolate are all kicked up in this exuberant, flamboyant Cabernet. The 2019 is a superb edition for the Napa Valley bottling.
