Wine Description

Made utilizing meticulously farmed grapes from the estate vineyard on Red Mountain, these Washington State wines receive the same care and attention in both winemaking and viticulture as the upper-tier Force Majeure wines. Our goal with Parabellum is to produce two beautiful and approachable wines that are reflective of their varieties and terroir, without constraints on blending. These wines will age gracefully for years, yet are crafted with an eye toward more immediate consumption. Parabellum provides an opportunity to savor an authentic wine of distinction at a great value.

4 reviews for Force Majeure Parabellum Coulee Red Blend 2019

  1. WS

Taut with tension and multilayered, this blend has powerful blackberry, green peppercorn and savory meat flavors that finish with broad-shouldered tannins. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Counoise. Best from 2024 through 2030.

  2. WE

Syrah makes up just over three quarters of this wine, with the rest Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Counoise. It’s an aromatic tour de force, with notes of flower, fresh blackberry, black raspberry, gravel and spice, showing intensity and ripeness. The palate is a big, ripe bowl of dark fruit, mouth-coating from end to end with impressive layering and texture. It’s flat-out delicious—an intense, no-holds-barred offering.

  3. JD

The Syrah-heavy entry level wine, the 2019 Parabellum Coulee has consistently been one of the top values out there, and the 2019 isn’t going to break that trend. Its deep purple hue is followed by full-bodied aromas and flavors of blackberries, peppery herbs, chocolate, and crushed rock-like minerality. It’s rich, beautifully concentrated and textured.

  4. VIN

Showing a good degree of decadence, the beautifully textured ‘Coulee’ by Parabellum revels in its concentrated huckleberry, coffee ground and black tea flavors that mingle with the soft sense of mouthfeel and smoky/salty undercurrents. Full-bodied, and ready to enjoy now, this rich Syrah based wine will surely provide drinking enjoyment for another eight to ten years.

The winery came into existence with a unique vision and a focus on collaboration. Previously, it operated under a 'Collaboration Series' where seven different winemakers crafted wines in various styles using fruit from Red Mountain's... Read More
The term "Red Blend" refers to red wines that are crafted from unusual or uncommon grape varieties or combinations thereof. It is also a convenient label for wines whose specific blend is either unknown or undisclosed. While these rare red-wine blends are typically intricate, many of them adhere to specific patterns. Numerous blends are regional variations of the renowned Bordeaux Blend. By incorporating their local signature grape alongside a basic Cabernet-Merlot blend, various regions have successfully expanded the appeal of their wines while still maintaining a distinct regional character. In Italy, this is accomplished by utilizing local specialties like Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and even the unique Lagrein from Trentino. In Austria, this is achieved with grapes like Zweigelt or...
