Finally, the 2020 Impulsivo from Cayuse which is made from 100% Tempranillo and is aged for 18 months in 50% new French oak barrels. Focused and rich on the nose and on the palate, it features aspects of wild blueberries, boysenberries, cedary herbs, and toasted sweet spices. A focused and forceful mouthfeel presents itself, while still maintaining a lovely elegance on the finish

Tight and closed, with notions of bloody blue fruits, iodine, rose petals, and cedarwood, the 2020 Impulsivo hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a nicely balanced, layered mouthfeel, and ripe tannins that emerge on the finish. I like its concentration, and its tannins are polished and beautifully integrated, but this is in need of a solid 4-5 years of bottle age to show its full potential. It should have 20-25 years of overall longevity when all is said and done.

Enticing aromas of black cherries, blackberries, licorice, cloves, green chilis and dark chocolate. It’s full-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Beautifully deep, fleshy and inky, with excellent freshness, too. Spicy and attention-grabbing. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

The sensational 2020 Impulsivo is a powerful wine from a tough vintage. On the nose this shows dried herbs and freshly tilled rocky soils alongside black plum and baking spices. The palate is deep and concentrated, yet maintains beautiful freshness and a strong douse of salinity. Complex, novel, enjoy this one-of-a-kind Tempranillo now and over the next six years
