Mayacamus Chardonnay 2019 opens with lifted aromatics of acacia and jasmine supported by a lovely fruit set of ripe Barlett pear, tart pineapple, and cantaloupe. On the palate the wine expands, broadening the frame, bringing layers of texture. Secondary flavors of lemon oil, almond, and chamomile round out the mid-palate. The finish is long with lingering notes of bright tropics, orchard fruit, and crushed flint rock.

  1. DEC

Fresh and exotic aromas of passion fruit, lychee, coconut flakes and seabreeze. The tropical perfume carries through the texturally taught, medium-bodied frame with its zippy acidity to a crisp saline finish. A singular expression of mountainside Napa Chardonnay.

  2. VIN

The 2019 Chardonnay is fabulous. Next to the 2018 in this tasting, it has more resonance and overall depth. Power, depth and energy all come together in this beautifully layered, expressive Chardonnay. Lemon oil, almond, chamomile and dried flowers fill out the layers effortlessly. The 2019 is such a gorgeous wine.

Mayacamas, a storied winery, is perched near the summit of Napa Valley's Mount Veeder sub-appellation. This historic estate has earned a stellar reputation for crafting classic Cabernet Sauvignon wines and exceptional Chardonnays. The winery's origins date back to 1889 when John Henry Fisher, an immigrant from Germany, built the stone winery and planted Zinfandel vines. However, the 1906 San Francisco earthquake forced Fisher to sell the winery during a period of bankruptcy. During Prohibition, Mayacamas continued to thrive by selling wine to the Church for religious purposes while discreetly running a bootlegging operation. In 1941, the winery was reborn as "Mayacamas" under the ownership of Jack and Mary Taylor. They replanted the vineyards with Chardonnay and Cabernet...check our brand Mayacamas

History
Mount Veeder’s viticultural roots stretch back to the mid-19th Century. Although many vineyards flourished on this mountainous terrain by the dawn of the 20th Century, Prohibition halted viticultural activities. It wasn't until the 1960s, amidst Napa Valley's wine revival, that Mount Veeder saw resurgence. This unique region earned its American Viticultural Area (AVA) designation in 1990, an accolade that... ...Check Region for more information
