With a career spanning over thirty years in the world of winemaking, Sean Capiaux has firmly established himself as a distinguished figure in the industry. Graduating from California State University, Fresno, with a degree in Enology and a minor in Chemistry, Capiaux embarked on his journey at Jordan Winery in Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley. However, this was just the beginning of his global winemaking odyssey.

After honing his skills at various prestigious wineries, including Houghton Winery in Perth, Australia, and Pine Ridge Winery in Stags Leap district, Capiaux’s expertise was recognized by Peter Michael Winery, where he contributed as assistant winemaker. A period of bicoastal winemaking across Long Island and California further enriched his knowledge.

Now serving as the President and Winemaker of O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery, Sean Capiaux continues to impress. Renowned for his mastery in crafting world-class mountain Cabernets, he seamlessly blends modern techniques with traditional methods. His dedication to allowing the true essence of the grapes and terroir to shine through is evident in his unfined, unfiltered, and naturally fermented wines.
