Philipp Pfunder Description
Philipp Pfunder, a dynamic and passionate winemaker, has been a rising star in the wine industry since joining the team for the 2016 vintage at Law Estate Wines in Paso Robles, California. Born in Munich, Germany, and relocating to Miami at the tender age of ten, Pfunder’s early life was marked by significant cultural transitions.
His passion for winemaking led him to New Zealand in 2008, where he pursued a Masters in Wine Science. This educational pursuit was more than just academic; it was a hands-on experience that allowed him to split his time between the northern and southern hemispheres, gaining invaluable insights into different winemaking techniques and traditions. During this period, he honed his skills at renowned wineries such as Kumeu River and Dry River in New Zealand, as well as the prestigious Château Angélus in Saint Émilion and Screaming Eagle in Napa Valley.
Pfunder’s extensive experience across various wine regions has deeply influenced his approach to winemaking.
