Born in Livorno in 1964, he hails from a family with Genoese roots and a deep connection to the land. Carlo’s journey into the world of wine began with his educational pursuits, where he obtained a degree as an agricultural expert and further specialized in oenology.
During his formative years, Carlo gained hands-on experience in the agronomic field, laying the foundation for his future career. His dedication to the agricultural sector led to a significant role with the Region of Tuscany, where he served as a technician and business consultant in agricultural development.
Carlo’s passion for wine and expertise in food technologies eventually led him to offer his consultancy services to various Tuscan companies. Notably, he assumed the role of General Manager at a local winery in 2000, overseeing its operations and management.
In 2009, Carlo Paoli’s journey brought him to Tenuta San Guido, where he assumed the pivotal role of General Manager. In this capacity, he holds the reins for both oenological and administrative management, ensuring that the estate’s legacy and exceptional winemaking standards are upheld. Carlo’s dedication and extensive experience have been instrumental in maintaining the high reputation of Tenuta San Guido and its iconic wines, including the celebrated Guidalberto.
