   This deep and potentially ageworthy blend from both valley and hillside sites is a baritone, showing deep bass notes of black currant, toasted oak and espresso on a great structure of fine-grained tannins and a full body. Best 2026–2036.

   Lavishly fruited, with almost sweet, jammy flavors of black cherries, dried spices and vanilla, Vineyard 29’s 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru includes fruit from 14 vineyards and is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec. Full-bodied and soft, it finishes long, plush and cedary.

   The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru Napa Valley is outstanding, and at the less than the $100 price point, it’s about as good as it gets! Ripe cassis, flowers, spicy oak, and tobacco notes all emerge from the glass, and it’s a ripe, round, wonderfully textured Cabernet that will shine for a decade or more.
