Crafted by winemaker Chrissy Wittmann at The Prisoner Wine Company, this iconic Red Blend is as much about creativity and collaboration as it is about richness, texture, and unmistakable character.
Born from a philosophy of forging new paths rather than following rigid tradition, The Prisoner brings together Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Sirah, Syrah, Merlot, and Malbec—a daring blend that delivers both power and polish. The winery’s long-standing relationships with heritage sites such as the Solari Family Vineyard in Calistoga and Korte Ranch in St. Helena provide fruit of depth, maturity, and unmistakable California personality.
Color
In the glass, The Prisoner 2023 shows a deep, saturated ruby to garnet hue, nearly opaque at its core, with flashes of purple along the rim—an immediate visual cue to its concentration and full-bodied style.
Aroma
