Wine Description
The Snowden Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 shows more depth of character every year. The brooding aromas of sandalwood, dried tobacco, black currant, and blackberries draw you in. This Snowden wine is deep and textured on the palate, with a savory, meaty body mingling with plumy cherry. The wine finishes long and full, with lightly dry tannins that compel you for more.
Crafted by winemaker Diana Snowden Seysses, this wine offers a remarkable combination of fruit density and structure. The grapes are organically farmed on the Eastern slope of Palomino Hill in Napa Valley, at an altitude of 850 feet. The soils here are rhyolite (volcanic sand), giving the wine its unique character. The Snowden wine 2017 vintage was harvested by hand on September 26, fermented with natural native yeasts, and aged for 17 months in French oak barrels, 50% new and 50% used. The wine was bottled unfined, unfiltered, and unblended on April 26, 2019, with an ABV of 14.7%.
This Snowden Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 has succulent and open flavors with friendly plum and raspberry puree notes. A silky structure is backed by light hints of rooibos tea and anise. The medium-bodied style offers an alluring mouthfeel that is both classic and old-school. The Snowden Brothers Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 has garnered impressive accolades. Vinous awarded it 93 points, praising its gorgeous blend of fruit density and structure, enhanced by a power outage that extended its time in the tank. This classic, medium-bodied wine has good depth and resonance, featuring notes of black cherry, leather, tobacco, licorice, and gravel. Wine Spectator gave Snowden Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, 92 points, highlighting its succulent and open nature with friendly plum and raspberry puree notes, a silky structure, and hints of rooibos tea and anise. This stylish Snowden wine Cabernet offers an alluring mouthfeel and is expected to surprise many over time, perfect for enjoying now through 2029.
