Wine Description
Pinea 17 2021 is a refined expression of 100% Tempranillo from DO Ribera del Duero, crafted by Pinea Wines under the direction of winemaker Isaac Fernández. Drawn exclusively from estate vineyards in the Burgos zone, this wine captures the luxurious fruit core and subtle oak nuances that define PINEA’s terroir-driven style.
Aging spans two winters in French oak, with 40% new barrels and 60% seasoned, achieving harmony between fruit purity and refined wood influence.

Tasting Notes of Pinea 17
Color: Bright ruby with a vivid violet rim, signaling freshness and concentration.
Aroma: Lifted black forest fruits and ripe cherries lead, layered with vanilla, gentle cedar, and a hint of sweet spice.
Palate: Medium-bodied and velvety, with balanced acidity and a chalky minerality typical of limestone soils. Tannins are finely knit, carrying the wine to a long, persistent, and rounded finish.
Enjoyment Window & Service
Approachable now, 17 by Pinea 2021 reaches its peak roughly two years after release and continues to reward careful cellaring. Serve at 16°C (60–61°F) and allow the wine to temper in the glass for full aromatic expression.

A youthful, memorable exploration of 100% Tempranillo made in a refined and modern style, the 2021 Tempranillo 17 by Pinea opens in a wealth of silky tannins and rounded red berry fruit. Fantastic acidity complements its power, complexity, and length to result in something remarkably sophisticated, with well-etched characteristics of oak spice, vanilla, cacao nib, and balsamic. The fruit is all blackberries. There’s no doubt a good amount of concentration in the wine, yet it feels weightless on the palate. Extremely impressive, it should age with ease another 15-20 years.

The 2021 17 by PINEA, 100% Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, was aged for just over two years in barrels. Dark garnet in color, it opens with balsamic notes and black fruit, alongside a hint of sour cherry. Oak is clearly present. The palate is intense and energetic, with compact structure, savory grip and lasting flavor. It finishes with a core of fruit and angular texture.
