Wine Description
This 2018 Cab has very dark garnet color with aromas of blackberry jam, black cherry and cassis. Big and rich across the palate, it is delicious. A nice ripe vintage produced a wine with berry and dark cherry pie flavors layered with hints of caramel toast, French Oak spice and depth of flavor. The texture is dense with medium weight, tannins and oak influence as well. Flavors persists several minutes after tasting. A blockbuster wine that will greatly improve with a few more years in the bottle.

I tasted this at a restaurant called The Harvey House in Madison, WI. Enjoyed the entire bottle, let it breathe for 15 minutes before drinking. This is a classic higher end Oakville cab blend at a more reasonable price. I absolutely loved it! Notes of raspberry, black cherry, vanilla, and some oak.Velvety smooth and delicious!

One hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Blackberry, caramel, cocoa, and boysenberry jam on the nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate. Full tannins on the longish finish. This is good, but needs more time and/or air.

Popped and poured. This is excellent, and drinkable already though undoubtedly better with some bottle age. Extremely dense black-purple color, stains the glass. Nose full of violets and other purple fruits and flowers. Excellent in the mouth, filled with purple and blue fruit; round, rich, ripe, and fabulous. Has all the stuffing you could ask for. Sure to please even the most discerning palate–at least a California one. This is one fine drink. 5-13-17-9: 94/100.

Very, very nice wine which will only get better with more age. Pleased that we have a bunch more of this vintage in the cellar to be enjoyed over the coming years. Paradigm is one of our favorite wineries. They produce great wine year after year at very fair prices.

Deep concentrated clear dark violet in the glass. 5Nose is clean and slightly closed showing cassis and tobacco. 12Palate confirms nose but much more expressive. Great depth already in it’s youth. Wet stone and rich tobacco. Velvety medium body. Contemplative lingering graphite finish. 14.5% Alcohol and wearing it well. 18Very accessible now. Decant! Maybe 5 years away from fully revealing it’s perfume. Good enough to take some home. 8

Color: Very dark ruby (impressive).Nose: A deep dark wet mineral pool of black cassis and currant with undertones of sweet vanilla, espresso (toasted oak), and dark damp soil. This nose is lovely. Palate: Full body. Striking concentration in the mouth. Lush dark fruit, kiss of french oak, with a rich, long, layered finish. Ripe, intense tannins. The alc is under control at 14.5%, love that. This satisfies all the criteria for Grand Vin: Exceptional beauty, balance, concentration, and complexity (bbcc). 94-95Drink: now and over the next 20 years (if stored in a temperature controlled cellar).JGH sommelier CMS-III, Napa Valley, CA

Opened and poured. After several swirls in the glass, immediately could tell this was going to be good. Great balance and nose. This just need 3-5 more years to be really good!
Gary Anthony –
Opened and followed for 7 hours. Bold and heavy, yet smooth tannin and balanced palate. Enjoyable in its youth, but lacking a little depth at this time.
George Marquez –
Still young but enjoyable after a short decant. Will only improve with age.
Stephen Jones –
2nd time drinking this. Blackberries, black cherries, licorice, eucalyptus. Great structure and balance. This smells and tastes like a more expensive NAPA Cab, therein lies the value in drinking it!
David Mishou –
Took about 4 hrs in the decanter to fully open, but when it did! Lots of red fruit, luxurious mouth feel and long finish. Yum.
Brad Mcglothlin –
Slightly deep and complex with richer oaky tannins, balanced acidity and inky blue black fruit.
