Keenan Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2021 is a classic, estate-driven Napa Valley Cabernet that showcases the power and elegance of mountain fruit balanced by aromatic complexity. The majority of the grapes for this vintage were sourced from Keenan’s Spring Mountain District estate vineyards, with a smaller portion harvested from Pope Valley, located in the eastern reaches of Napa Valley. Together, these two sites create a wine of depth, structure, and harmony.
The Spring Mountain estate fruit brings intense concentration, firm tannins, and remarkable age-worthy structure—hallmarks of mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. The Pope Valley component adds lifted aromatics, complexity, and a supple mid-palate, enhancing the wine’s overall balance and approachability. Harvest began on September 7 and concluded on September 14, ensuring optimal ripeness across all lots.
After harvest, the grape clusters were de-stemmed and fermented for ten to fourteen days to extract color, flavor, and structure. The wine was then barrel aged for twenty months in a carefully selected combination of French and American oak, with approximately 33% new oak, adding layers of spice, texture, and subtle vanilla notes without overpowering the fruit. The final blend was assembled shortly before bottling.
The result is a refined Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with dark fruit concentration, complex aromatics, and a polished, structured finish. This wine is ideal for collectors, cellar aging, or pairing with grilled meats, lamb, or richly flavored dishes.
