Richard Sheppard –
Appearance: Dark red. Aroma: Strawberry with hints of plum, pepper, and mushrooms after decanting. Taste: Tannins integrated with oak and ripe red berries.
Teresa Schlegel –
“Cellar-worthy cab with a beautiful nose and substantial body, pairs perfectly with blackened ribeye.”
Johnny Moulton –
Great wine, excellent typicity, charming, smooth, and subtle. Should be enjoyed now.
Dorothy Johnson –
Mature and deep with a dusty finish.
Norman Green –
Perfect balance of flavors, mixed red and black fruits with a hint of tobacco. Mouthfilling fruit with medium body. Great with fatty foods, but still tannic. Peak for 2-3 years.
Margaret Roy –
Black current, herbs, medium body, soft texture, smooth integrated tannins, long juicy finish. Oak is present, but well integrated. No heat whatsoever. Seems like a great time to drink this one.
Jason Lecky –
Excellent Napa Cab, decanted for an hour, paired with beef medallions. Ready to drink now.
Andre Medlin –
Great birthday pairing in 2019, fantastic!
Heidi Clark –
Dense and intense with high alcohol and buttery notes. Concentrated fruit and spice.
Vincent Morales –
Awesome! Big but soft. Full bodied.
Amanda Thomson –
Excellent wine. Hendry produces only top-notch quality.
Christopher Agee –
Not my preference, but well-crafted with balanced flavors. High price compared to my preferred Bordeauxs. Ripe and jammy, mellow acidity, nice grippy tannins, and a great finish.
Steve Jackson –
Opened and decanted for one hour. There was a good amount of sediment so be sure to decant and pour properly or be prepared for grit. The color was a very dark, brooding, dark ruby with just a bit of lighter ruby on the rim. On the nose, this is everything a top quality Napa Cabernet should be with black currant, ash, gravel, black cherry, black plums, and hints of earth, baking spice, and cacao. On the palate it is more of the dark fruits with well integrated tannins and the right balance of acidity that tells me this still has a ways to go. The flavors were black currant, black cherry, baking spices, cocoa, cigar box, violets and just a subtle hint of spearmint. Full bodied with a long and lingering finish of dark ripe fruits, crushed earth and more cigar box. Just a special bottle really. , 50+4+13+18+8=93
Deloris Lang –
Dark red, drank over 90 mins. Notes of cedar, burnt embers, dark fruits, spice, pepper, and wood. Firm tannins. 90+pts.
Manuel Weaver –
Excellent wine, pairs well with NY strips. Younger and less full-bodied than Martini Rosso cab. Tannins are more apparent with a black pepper finish. Preferred over Martini as steak accompaniment.
Daren Colvard –
Very good and balanced. Nice as earthy and barnyard as the 2006 right now. Tannins were well integrated and this was very food friendly. Not a power house but was a perfect compliment to a good steak
Kenneth Zavala –
Great depth of dark fruit and tannins. Exceptional.
Trevor Portillo –
Promising Christmas dinner with prime rib.
Kenneth Chapman –
“Pristine and natural taste with crema de cassis and French oak notes. Rich in black currants with a balanced and detailed finish. Enjoy now or age for up to 15 years. Rated 92.”
Willie Baker –
Rich, ripe dark red fruit with tannins and acid deliver tension and vibrancy. Atypical of most Napa Cabs. Not easy to find in Canada.
Amy Voorhies –
Intense black berries and oak aromas with a smooth texture. Long finish. Very good quality.
Alan Lopez –
Pure, focused with tightly wound 100% new French oak. Where will it go? – 20 words.
Jeff Chapman –
A beautifully balanced 15-year-old Napa Cab Sav with notes of raspberry and red fruits. Restrained tannins add to the rich and smooth mouthfeel. A complex wine with a hint of milk chocolate/vanilla at the finish.
Marcia Funderburk –
Delightfully delicious.
Tammie Willie –
Korsholm’s Cab tasting – fantastic.
Willie Rayburn –
Mature with oak integration, still young with prevalent fruit and creeping oak and tannins. Good juice, nice effort. Drink now with decant through 2025.
Gregory Trias –
Hidden gem in Napa with notes of leather, blackberry, vanilla, licorice, and sweet tobacco. Peaking now with strong tannins. 14.2% ABV, aged 21 months in new French oak.
Frederick Landry –
Initially odd, but improved with aeration. Ultimately forgettable.
Danial Hart –
Delicious blackberry and eucalyptus flavors. Full-bodied and fragrant.
Vernon Fillers –
Balanced, legit wine with detailed tech notes. Oak mostly hidden. Not complex, but Napa Cab is well made. Hold until 2024?
Evelyn Hamilton –
Robust palate with muted blackberry front and earthy mid/finish. Pruny with med/low acidity and tannic but starting to smooth. Dry finish. Will drink well for years.
Elizabeth Brown –
Well balanced with a beautiful nose. Plenty of life left, beyond 2021. Hendry builds great, cellarable wines.
Teresa Selby –
Smooth finish with earthy tones. Stored well, drank on 11/26/2020, recommended decanting. Hendry Winery offers one of the best wine tours.
Bonnie Pierson –
Great wine, simply delicious!
Princess Brown –
Sorry, I cannot rewrite the review as it only contains the word “Christmas” and it is unclear what the review is actually about. Please provide me with the full review so I can assist you better.
Luanne Zhou –
Great wine for sentimental reasons. Fear of having kept the bottle too long was quickly swept away upon opening. Beautiful presentation, and far outperformed expectations. Wish I had done a vertical.
Katina Jackson –
Big, bold, and complex wine with high acidity, tannins, and fruit concentration. Not for those who prefer milder flavors.
Connie Rebello –
Dark, inky red with fleshy fruit flavors and surprising raspberry notes on the finish. Balanced and complex, with a pronounced tannic structure. Evolving with age, better after dinner.
Dorothea Buchauer –

Carolyn Fournier –
Solid, needs more air and time. Straightforward with secondary notes. Great with steak frites. 375ml size is a plus.
James Ortiz –
Great balance of cassis, raspberries, tobacco and leather with a medium-long finish and refreshing acidity.
Rosalie Trotter –
Expert wine reviewer.
Ruben Shaw –
Great release. Rich Cabernet with deep aromas of red and purple fruit, and flavors of red mulberry and raspberry. Intriguing secondary notes. Medium acidity and grippy tannins. Refined and delicious.
David Murray –
Balanced, dark fruit notes. Not a typical California cab fruit bomb. Drink now, may not improve.
James Buttaro –
Complex and enjoyable, best consumed in the next two years.
Leonard Mason –
Fruity, light, and balanced acidity. Highly satisfying.
Eddie Rivera –
Review: No changes from previous tasting.
Dennis Hagan –
Earthy with smoky fruit notes, more Sonoma than Napa. Traditional style.
Pedro Martinez –
Restrained fruit and complexity on the palate, with tobacco, earth, mineral, and sour cherries. Big acid and grippy tannins. Decant carefully due to sediment. Nice older vintage for the price at K&L.
Stepanie Gould –
from 375ml. Opaque. Very herbal aromas mixed with black currant and cedar. Rich, somewhat ripe blackberry and black cherry flavors with a hint of pencil lead and cedar. Somewhat lush but well-structured finish with very mildly astringent tannins. Very age worthy – recommend decanting for 1+ hours or hold for a couple more years. 90++
Jacqueline King –
Allow 30 minutes of air time for optimal enjoyment, but don’t wait too long. Great as before.
Jerry Ayers –
Less fruit than usual, but still good.
Glenn Auerswald –
Dark purple with cherry and raspberry aromas. Mocha and mint flavors with a hint of berries.
Anita Lawrence –
Dark fruit notes, needs decanting. Pairs well with steak. Beware of suspended deposits.
Megan Holton –
Lush and open, similar to 8/22 TN. No need to decant. Near peak with plenty of life.
Felix Pilgrim –
Approachable now, but also age-worthy. Classic cabernet black fruit notes of black cherry and currant. Another great vintage from Hendry.
Donald Federico –
Enjoyed this well-balanced, medium to dark dry wine. Great fruit flavor. Perfect with steak.
Loretta Cardona –
Excellent ’05 wine with crème de cassis flavors and dark fruit balanced by nice acidity. Perfect with steaks, enhances the meat’s flavors.
Taylor Herring –
Enjoyed this wine with pat at selkirk manor after a long week of SIP. Surprisingly good despite being past drink by date. Prefer this over pro reviews. Reminds me of elegant wine dinners with George Hendry.
Deborah Stillwell –
Young and fruity, needed 3 hour decant, very enjoyable.
Jorge Johns –
Perfectly aged Cab with excellent balance of fruit, alcohol, and tannins. Outstanding.
Jo Mckee –
Consistently impressive.
Mary Jones –
Dry finish with tannins and notes of plum and blackberry.
Morris Perez –
Excellent wine with balanced notes of blackberry and pepper, integrated tannins and great mouthfeel. Drink now.
Curtis Riley –
Aged to perfection with bright bramble flavors and a fair sediment amount. Simply tasty.
Steven Johnson –
Pleasant with red fruit and a touch of tar. Balanced with a good funk. Drying tannins present, but can age for 10 more years.
Helen Taylor –
Great, slightly dry.
Dawn Otto –
Ruby color with a light fruit aroma. Notes of cherry, vanilla, and toffee. Weak acidity and fruit on the palate with dry tannins and a long finish.
Mayra Michalak –
Perfect pairing with steak.
Katharine Messick –
Review: Medium acidity and tannins with a long finish. Notes of dark plums, blackcurrant, tobacco, toast, cedar, and stall. A great wine, but lacks primary fruit on the nose.
Myrna Summers –
Balanced California cab without the sledgehammer.
Jack Nwachukwu –
Exceptional magnum of Hendry Cab with beautiful perfume notes and matured tannins. Black fruit, earth, blueberries, blackberries, and currants.
Dorothy Trejo –
J McCabe’s oaky and thin half bottle may be flawed.
Amy Payne –
Great complexity and flavor, but requires a few hours of decanting.
Irene Rudzik –
Best enjoyed in 2028.
WE –
This deeply colored, extremely ripe and concentrated wine from a cooler part of Napa Valley is powerful but smooth, as a creamy texture carries blueberries, cocoa and anise flavors wrapped in significant fine-grained tannins. The flavors show great depth on the palate and good length on the finish.
JS –
Aromas of red and black currants, gravel and plums. Medium-to full-bodied with velvety tannins. Nice depth and intensity, without being overdone. Rather soft and subtle in its approach. Bright fruit and fresh herbs. Nicely done.
