Budbreak arrived slightly earlier than average, followed by warm, consistent conditions through spring and summer. These steady conditions allowed for even ripening across vineyard sites. A Labor Day heat event accelerated harvest activity, but the well-developed canopies helped protect the fruit from stress. As temperatures cooled later in the season, the remaining grapes gained additional hang time, enhancing flavor development and natural acidity. Careful fruit thinning and rigorous sorting following modest mid-September rains ensured concentration and purity in the finished wine. Harvest extended over eleven weeks, yielding fruit with freshness, depth, and structural harmony.

In the cellar, the wine was crafted with a thoughtful approach to fermentation and aging. Approximately 90% of the Chardonnay was barrel fermented, with the remaining portion fermented in tank to preserve vibrancy. Malolactic fermentation was completed for 40% of the wine, contributing subtle richness without overshadowing varietal character. The wine was aged for nine months in 100% French oak, with 40% new barrels and 60% neutral oak, a regimen designed to frame the fruit rather than dominate it.

Aromatically, the wine opens with notes of nectarine, pear blossom, and hints of citrus, layered with restrained touches of vanilla and caramelized pineapple from oak aging. On the palate, flavors of white peach and lemon zest carry through with a smooth, rounded texture, supported by bright acidity that keeps the finish focused and clean. The alcohol level of 14.1% is well integrated, lending weight without heaviness.
